I've been baking pies for 65 years. You are such a good teacher!
Crust in the oven...enjoying the lesson! ❤
A lovely lady and a brilliant teacher. I agree with your comment ❤
Once upon a time...my MiL asked me to bake a pie. I had never made pie crust before. I was newly wed. So i found all the ingredients & proceeded to make the pie crust. It was a disaster. I cried all through the attempt of making the crust. My tears went right into the crust. Then i poured the pie filling into the crust. Baked and it came out a beautful golden color. My FiL said thats the best pie crust I've ever ate. Lol. I never told them about the tears that went into the crust.
That's funny! 😆 You must be an amazing cook, to have had that much success on your VERY FIRST pie crust! 🥳🏆
Whoever coined the phrase "easy as pie" never made a pie crust! 😂
Been trying 66 yr.s. Still make bad pie crust. And frozen r bad. I like the rolls come in a box.
I love Banquet meat pie crust, u just have to bake it a ling tome. Maybe cook the bottom by its self after. Ha!
It,s just not worth the trouble and is so bad for u.😮 Get pie by the slice once in awhile. U make a poe u will eat too much of it .
That is a beautiful story.
Awww...Love your story !!!
Other people’s saliva is also gross in food. NEVER put the tasting utensil back into the pot or bowl or whatever. It’s unhygienic and just downright disgusting.
My husband and I watched this to the very end. We're going to make this pie tomorrow. What a wonderful presentation!!! Thank you.
Hi Linda! Thanks for watching 😊 Cant wait for you to try the pie! ❤️, Marie

I am a baker and love to watch videos of other bakers. I enjoyed your presentation very much!!
I love your dog 💕🐾. I have two Whippets 🥰
I watched all of it too! I appreciate the tips about not tempering the eggs and not using rice or beans as weights in the crust - I love it when someone has a better way to do it!
Me too!❤
I think a little toasted coconut would also look nice on top of the pie.
Watching from Temple, Texas.
Hi Linda! We just drove through Temple yesterday on the way home from Dallas! Sweet town 🥰 Thanks for watching ❤️, Marie

I’ve been looking for the perfect coconut cream pie with Stevia. I’m a diabetic and my daughter can’t eat regular sugar Because she had gastric bypass surgery. And she’s been asking for a coconut cream pie. so this is perfect. I’m so glad I found you. I’ll be making this for our Sunday dinner Dessert Thank you
Try making them in a muffin tin. Small size helps control eating and reduces any guilt😮😮
I always make a coconut cream pie for Easter. I’m going to try your recipe. On mine I top cream with a bit of toasted coconut. Makes for a nice contrast and lets people know it contains coconut.
Hi Mary! Thanks for watching! I’m excited for you to try this recipe 🥰 Yes I do think toasted coconut is lovely. Hugs, Marie
I watched the whole video. I've been making coconut cream pies for years using my mom's recipe that she got from her mom. I'm 67 so it's been around for years. Coconut is my favorite. But I'm going to try yours. Looks so good. Also, I've always had a problem making pie crusts so I'm going to try one your way. Thank you for sharing.
Would you mind to share your recipe that was passed down. I haven't made many pies, and have yet to make a coconut pie. I would loke to try it the older way and also like in this video too; prefer to try the older way first.
I would also love your passed down recipe as well. TIA!
Howdy Marie! My hubby loves coconut so I'm going to try this one but only as a pudding. You make your recipes less stressful & more enjoyable to create! Thank you, Dear Soul!🙏🏻😁👍 Give that sweet pooch a HUG from North Carolina 🐶😁🥰👍
Hi! I’m so glad you are enjoying the recipes and videos 😊 Thanks for watching and taking time to leave a note ❤️, Marie
Thirty plus minutes of watching you was not long at all; and I watched to the end! I just love your channel and all the helpful tips you give. ❤❤❤
Hi Becky! Thanks so much for watching 🥰 Glad you enjoyed the video! Stay tuned for more new recipes soon ❤️, Marie
I tiotally agree. She is a joy to watch, and I love all the great tips. I also watch until the end. 😊
Thank you Jennifer! So glad you enjoy the videos ❤️, Marie
I watched it till the end and love the pie tin and bowl trick!!! The only thing I’d do differently is toast some of the coconut flakes to top the pie and make pretty. It also lets the consumer know it’s coconut cream. Great video!
I LOVE the idea of not having to temper the yolks for coconut cream pie. Plus I love the alternative for pie weights. tysm, yes I watched the entire vid. Big thumbs up.
I have learned a lot from you tonight and I’m over 70! Thank you. Prettiest pie. 👍
Hi Marie, I haven't tried your recipe, yet, but I will in the near future. I've run across you in the past. A lot of times, I'm in a hurry and I don't think to subscribe, but tonight, I'm not in a hurry and I finally subscribed to your channel.
For a good 40 years, my sister-in-law used to make Coconut Cream Pie for Thanksgiving and Christmas dessert. We have a large extended family and so we usually have a lot of food and lots of desserts for any get together, but especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas. A few years back, my brother and his wife moved out of state. This past Christmas, I really missed my sister-in-law's Coconut Cream Pie. I decided then that I'm making the Coconut Cream Pie! It's March and so, I have plenty of time to make a few pies before the holidays.
You have great videos. I love that you take your time and explain a lot of things along the way. I also appreciate your helpful hints!
I don't remember what you said to write in the comments (Baking the Crust?), but I did watch it to the end, gave my "thumbs up" and subscribed.
My niece is one of those cooks that needs every little detail spelled out for her. I'm going to recommend that she watch your videos because they're very educational.
Thank you, Marie. I look forward to seeing more of your videos, past and future.
Hi! Thanks for watching and subscribing! I love the story about the coconut cream pie 😊 How wonderful that you will be able to carry on the tradition! Thanks for sharing my channel with your niece and please stay tuned for more new videos soon ❤️, Marie
I've never made a coconut cream pie because of the blind baking. I will now for sure be making one since you made it so easy to follow and very enjoyable to watch to the end with all your great tips. Thank you!
Hi! Thanks so much for watching! So glad it was helpful 😊 Excited for you to try the pie! Hugs, Marie
Marie, thank you for the great video. I watched the whole video...I'm going to use the crust recipe, too. My hint is: use powdered sugar in your whipped cream it has cornstarch already in it it makes your cream very stable and thick. Done it for decades really. Add your vanilla to the cream before whipping it. Thank you again. Linda😉
Hi Linda! Great tip, thanks! And thanks for watching 🥰 Hope you get to try the pie ❤️, Marie
Great tips!❤
I'm so glad to find your channel, you explain so clear and share so many tips that are so helpful to me who has never bake any pie before, I watched to the very end. Thank you so much.
Thanks, Marie! I really łike your dog. Ałso, I enjoyed your video, which I did watch to the end. You are a great teacher. You anticipate questions and address them well, demonstrating your points. I would pay money to take cooking classes taught by you. This pie looks so good. Wish I could try it but I dont have access to a kitchen.
Hi Alice! Thanks so much for watching and for such kind feedback. I’m going to screenshot your comment so I can save it and read it when I need some encouragement. 🥰 I appreciate you so much. Hugs, Marie
I watch a lot of cooking vids and this is the first of yours I have seen- you are great at teaching and making it seem like even I could do your recipe. I have subscribed. Thank you!

Thanks so much! 🤠👍🏻
Stayed thru til the blind bake tips! So good! Thanks!
When my mom made this she put some coconut spread on top of the crust during the second blind bake.
She made hers with meringue so when she put it in the oven to cook off she sprinkled more coconut 😋.
Heaven. Yum.
I’m going to try yours. I know Mom didn’t used coconut milk just standard pudding. Thank you.
I just found your page.
Hi Margo! Oh that such a good idea! I’ll have to try coconut on the crust before the second blind bake. 👍🏻 Thanks so much for watching. Hugs, Marie
My mom made hers with meringue baked with sprinkled coconut on it, also. Delicious both ways!
I’ll have to try it with meringue! Thanks Norma 💖, Marie
Great idea! I’ll have to try it❤

So glad this presentation popped up on my feed. This is my fav pie and you’re an excellent instructor & I’m anxious to replay the whole thing in the kitchen while I make my own. Baking is a luxury that I haven’t had time for so I’m not as experienced, especially w/ pies. Thanx for a superb video. I’m looking forward to more of your well-planned tutorials - new subscriber. Great tips for success! All the way to the end.🥧 I aspire to make my own scones, English muffins, and flavorful shortbread cookies.

Great instruction. The best thing is you emphasize waiting until everything cools. It is so tempting but you know how to say it and give yr own experience.
Hi Mary Lou! Thanks for watching 😊 Yes I have a vivid memory of a cold pie filling melting in a warm crust … it was melting over the sides of the pie plate and sliding onto the counter lol. I so wanted to stop it, but it was too late 😩 Glad yall can learn from my mistakes! Stay tuned for more new videos soon ❤️, Marie

This is my first video I've seen of yours. I hope all of your videos are this informative. You didn't leave out any details. You answered questions before they were asked! The information on the coconut milk, for us who've never used it before, was great. I've never made a crust. Well, I've never made a pie! I enjoyed watching the whole thing, it was worth it! Can't wait to watch more of your tutorials. Thank you.
A little dark rum in the filling and whipped cream takes this pie to another level.
Lol ❤
I love watching the whole process of pie crust making. I struggle so much with my pie crusts. I love Coconut pie, cake and cookies. Thank you for sharing your recipe. It looks simple and delicious.

Hi Leslie! Thanks for watching! So glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, my kids are my “consultants” for videos and food! They are always honest lol ❤️, Marie
I use coconut sugar for all my baking. It does tend to darken the color of whatever I use it for, but the taste is wonderful! No stevia! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks so much for the tip! I have coconut sugar and will have to try it! Would be so delicious in a vanilla cream pie - that extra color and depth would be beautiful! ❤️, Marie
