    Also since you got a Haltech, it's worth tuning it on dual fuel. E85 is corrosive on parts over time so it's good to flush your fuel system with pump 98 every now & again

    The more power you make, the more it breaks. Keep power to a mild figure (250kwish). It will allow to drive the pants off it and keep it reliable. People get carried away with outright power figures these days, but one of these with 220kw is soo much fun (mine makes 300whp, as it has for over 10 years and still starts everytime, stock everything internal wise)
    The gearboxes are like glass. Award diff and gearboxes in seven hills do the 3rd to 4th circlip mod, which will allow it to live longer and be good for 250kw reliably. As long as you don’t think it’s a dog box and have mechanical sympathy, you will be fine. Done heaps of them and my own (as I’m sure you have plenty of mates too) cheers
    Oh, and also, pull the motor out to do the job. Makes it sooo much better to work on, and allows you to make sure everything is done right.
    Tuners are lazy, a nistune is perfectly fine for those power figures. It’s just easier for them because of base maps/previous tunes etc.

And Yeap I’m leaning towards pulling out the motor now to do it all, will also give me a chance to clean up the engine bay and possibly paint it too 👀 Thanks again for your comment and for watching! 🔥

    You have a good responsive turbo 👍 drop in some Step 1 cams, these will work with stock valve springs and VCT. I went with HKS step 1 256/264 staggered cams. Also the 6 speed will live below 300kw, all depends on how you treat it 🤙

    Hey bud, its hard work to do everything. ive done similar mods on my 1jz vvti soarer. get the engine profressional sort and sealed. then you can do the turbo upgrade yourself. it shouldnt be super difficult im sure can can do turbo part yourself and get it tunned professionally. im just waiting for a tune on my car

    i blew my box with only 215kw as the stock cams makes power down low which then makes alot of torque therefore not good for the shit 6 speeds. I'd recommend going a bigger cam as it will make more power up top rather than down low, this will help you can reach your goal of 280kw however it will feel abit laggy but it will save your box.

    Taarks or PRP coil kit
    Def install an o2 wideband controller and a can gauge with the Haltech, most tuners won’t touch it without the wideband controller. Can gauge also allows you to monitor your afr easily too

      he will be able to tune it without a wideband if the tuner uses his own external wideband during the dyno session. Problem with that is the ecu now relies of the stock narrow band o2 which will be fairly useless. Personally id rather see an elite 1500 being used with a CAN wideband and let the ecu also control boost. You can wire in a simple high low switch or 12 position rotary switch for more flexibility.

      @@ThatCarLife Haltech make one. Contact Haltech and see if they have one suitable to the ecu you have.
      I’ve spoken to a few tuners and they wouldn’t even consider tuning mine without it. You want the best possible tune on your car too… a bad tune can kill an engine quickly.

      @@ThatCarLife you’ll also have to consider upgrading your fuel lines.
      Bigger brakes might also be worth considering at your power goal.

    All killer mods only other thing I’d add would be some small cams tomei poncams or some small Kelfords.
    Will be a killer combo.

      @@Wintersgarage_ can vouch for this. I run an r33 diff with 4.1 gears and a 5-speed box and it pulls like a train

    Labor wise you can save some money doing all the disassembly stuff yourself. Reassembly is where you'll learn some new skills. With the only daunting process being torqueing the head studs and reassembly of the head, shims and timing. Cleaning the block surface with the pistons still in is do able just take your time with a razor and make sure its very clean for proper headgasket seal.
    We did this on a friends sr20 and it turned out fine. Cam wise I had stock cams on a hks gt-rs (2871r) on 21psi I made 245rwkw. Since you're getting the head rebuilt ask if they can do a light tidy up of the ports (this supposedly is where most of the easy gains are when preforming a port and polish.) that should improve flow while still having stock cams. The great thing about stock cams is its easy on the vct and drivability down low is sweet.
    I'm not sure about the sport 1000 but it does look like it has some features above a nistune. The elite series I agree is a massive jump up but see what the Platinum can do with engine protection features. Its well worth setting up!

    Install it all yourself bro with some mates, best way to learn. Loads of resources online everywhere for these cars. Save your money for when the gearboxs turns to atoms on the m5.
