Great respect for the "animals needs first" mindset you have demonstrated since Gladys arrived. Setting aside human emotion in favor of Gladys becoming fully gorilla, & a "no rush" step by step integration into the troop- other zoos mention your leadership & willingness to share information. Cudos.
Good video! Some questions please.... Is this the same Silverback who was introduced to 3 girls who showed him who is boss a few seconds later? The adopted baby is adorable. It look like he is riding the alpha male's back at time. Is the alpha male carrying the baby on it's back in some of these photos.
Im so glad gladys surrogate mom has taken her in n protects her like she's her own baby. The make gorilla knows he better not touch the baby without mamas approval.
I’m not gorilla expert but I would guess no. She’s so young, even if she was male she would still just look like a baby to Jomo. If it was an adolescent male he might feel differently.
Depending on the gorilla family I think because the male in charge you can tell how he treats his members we watch families in Japan and Taiwan and the members are more relaxed around the male these look terrified
You all have done a magnificent job with Gladys. I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed all the videos!! Thank you!
Fabulous job with Gladis. She is so adorable!!

Would Jomo have reacted differently if Gladys was a male?
