Wild rides for John Force and Alexis DeJoria at the Lucas Oil Winternationals

  • The desperation to get in a good run was evident as both John Force and Alexis DeJoria tried to save problem-plagued runs and cost themselves valid e.t.s. Force crossed the centerline and DeJoria tagged the wall with the left-rear fender. Because they did take the Tree they will go on the qualifying sheets ahead of a trio of drivers who never even got to the Tree, but all of them, including Force and DeJoria, are outside the quick 16.

From here that looks like fun. but with the wheelbase being so small it's not easy. those drivers have serious skills and have all my respect. 💪💪🏁💯💯

Correcting both of those cars at that point, with zero sheet metal damage, speaks volumes to both drivers skill sets

I was at the track on Friday and saw the run, good driving skills for both.
Talked with Alexis (sweet as can be and down to earth) yesterday and she said her fire extinguisher failed causing the mishap. She didn't make the show for the final round but she"ll be back to fight another day. I'm getting ready for the final rounds as I type, gotta go...

Sad day on Sunday. Maybe only 300 people in the stands. NHRA has to do something to bring the fans back into the seats. Very sad seeing that. When i was growing up the stands were packed..

Track conditions looked awful. Few made anything resembling a full run.
And Force crossing the center line again. Looks like a repeating theme.

Obviously a problem with the start line area. Both cars were in trouble when they began their runs. Speaks volumes about how skilled the drivers are to avoid a collision!

This video shows you how terrible the NHRA is at building a Brand. No wonder race teams are struggling raising money. Here you have a great 1 min clip to show the awesomeness of Nitro Funny Cars and Drag Racing and here they show 2 seconds of in car POV of Alexis coasting in the car. A normal third graded would have shown 20 seconds before that of her taming the Beast and fighting to control her car and saving it! This is why anything the marketing dept does at NHRA is so bland and painfully of message. Just watch what Smokes production team did with his 2 part Gatornationals videos.

      Speaking of "third graded" efforts...
If you are going to chide the NHRA over their marketing efforts, try to improve your wording, at least to above a "third graded" level..."so bland and painfully of message"???

So why was there very few people there last year at the Northwest nationals?
On Saturday, there was 21000 people.moore on sunday You're looking at 90000 people. For the three day event And they only had 12 funny cars and 12 dragsters.
And probably 10 pro stock motorcycles. And people still went

Double disqualification and double fines. John crossed first he hit the blocks and Alexis crossed second and smacked the wall and took out a light and the fire extinguisher. This run is a bust see you tomorrow John and Alexis.

Looks to me like John forced her to take evasive action so she wouldn't get hit by his stupid decision to stay in it. HE should have been DQ'd, NOT HER!!!

Old geezer needs to retire but he’s a huge grandiose narcissist and racing provides the validation he needs to function! It’s funny....people that know nothing about narcissism thinks he keeps racing because he’s a “die hard” champ! He’s super selfish or he would retire and do some things his wife has sacrificed all these years for him to live his dream....he’s got plenty of money! His wife and daughters won’t give him validation because they understand his disorder....that’s why two of them quit racing...to get away from him....
