The primary thing is the stance and way of fighting , and martial art style like boxing , muay thai , etc.. have better practicality than wing Chun. Wing Chun's stance is itself not quite practical . And if you will think that I am nuts , I would like to tell you that I have practiced in muay thai gyms with professionals , and their techniques is just awesome compared to wing chun .

That’s why Bruce lee had to improvise it to ‘Jeet kune do’ where time lag movements were deleted. More kicks locks were added. You can watch the legend of Bruce lee in Netflix it’s a lovely insight into martial arts world. UFC is straight brutal, but execution and winning totally on the person who is using it. Any form is good.

What I saw was boyka taunting,but letting ip man get up to continue. What I saw was ipman continue attacking even though boyka was face down and giving him a kick to the groin. Ip man fought dirty. Age and physique difference doesn’t justify dirty tactics when fighting. And prior to this fight, it was all instigated by the Chinese.

I know that the villain was super badly written. But the fight... Fight absolutely made up for all the wait through out the movie. Once I saw Scott Adkins in the cast i knew it will be legendary.

Not to mention that there was nothing in the rules that specify that you couldn’t do that, personally I’d say it’s a show of the different approach the two styles have, one focuses on linear brute strength and delivering raw powerful blows while the other aims for accuracy and efficiency. After all, giving credit where credit is due, getting such accurate strikes in during actual combat is not easy at all and neither boyka nor most people would be able to pull it off anyway.
