I used to watch Tuscan Sun movie over and again, the setting was in Italy, beautiful! I want to watch it again but I misplaced the DVD due to busy-ness. I have many favorite songs, but one of them is The Journey by Lea Salonga. Also, like The Climb by Miley Cyrus.
I wrote bedtime stories for my daughters when they were young. Later, they printed them and made a book of them for my birthday. That’s probably my favorite book.. 😁

For no reason, I've been feeling kinda sad and exhausted lately. Watching this video just took all those weird feelings/thoughts away and made me calm. Thank you!
You are such a breath of fresh air! It was beautiful to see your love of books, especially the ones with the pictures and the old books. Your inner world is fascinating and I am grateful to get to watch a part of it. You bring joy to my own inner world each and every week!
One of my favorites is "The Velveteen Rabbit." It was written by Margery Williams. The part I enjoy the most is when it talks about what it means to be truly loved and what it takes to become "real." It never fails to touch my very soul, and having lived a while now, I can confirm that it is true!
My favorite book, written in 1938 and thereafter a classic, "The Little Prince" written by Antonine De Saint-Exuperly. A children's book well suited for adults.
This is mine as well, and I wrote my final term paper in college on that book, as I'd read it as a child but again as an adult and picked up so much more meaning.
A wonderful book! I studied it in its native French language at school 50 years ago and have been re-reading it in English ever since, as the story has so much to give. I would say that it’s an adult book well suited for children!

You remind me of my grandma. She’s almost 82, and had never had internet, doesn’t have a TV, and has a flip phone she barely uses. Because of no internet, she has amassed thousands of books to learn from. Cookbooks, garden books, history, children’s books. All different kinds. Her small farm and little brick house are magical. She has book shelves on just about every wall. I was reading chapter books in kindergarten and no doubt got good at reading from the many hours spent at her house reading or being read to. It’s like my second home there. I am so busy these days with many projects, but I try to read a little when I’ve got some extra time, which is usually in the winter.
Love the Anne of Green Gables books. However, if you haven't read L.M. Montgomery's The Blue Castle (one of the few books she wrote for adults), you're missing out. It's up there among my faves - hilarious and poignant at all once.
L.M. Montgomery is my all time favorite author! I’m 51 and learned to love these books from my mother. I have read them over and over through the years. ❤️ When I took my dream trip to England in my early 20s, I found an antique set of the Anne books at a book fair in Bath, and had them shipped home. How I cherish them!
I've been watching you for some time. You bring a sense of peace into my evenings, after a long day of work. You seem to be a real kindred spirit, but in this video, when you sat down on your chair, amidst your books, and grinned in delight, I absolutely loved you! Please keep being you and thank you for being willing to share your thoughts and peace with us!
My all time favorite book, The old man and the sea by Ernest Hemingway. I like to read it every year….the shear irony of the story always grounds me back to zero. Humm…I need to find it; as with you, I too am a book hoarder with a bookshelf in every room of my house including the garden shed!! Take care sweet thing …prayers to the all in the line of the forest fires 🙏. Stay safe everyone. ❤️
I live in a house not much bigger than that and it’s wall to wall books everywhere. There is always room for one more...or a couple dozen. Excellent selection.
Best book I ever read, "The Good Earth" by Pearl S Buck, 1940s, Young poor woman who marries a poor Chinese Farmer. Could not put that book down, they even made a movie of it.
A lot of people will say Harry Potter, but those books, read throughout my 20s as they were written, got me through some tough times. I am proud to count the characters as my friends and I visit often when I need to reset or comfort myself.
The Borrowers! I have lovely memories of reading all of those books when i was a little girl. (I'm 66 now) I would climb the tree in the back yard and sit in the limbs and read for hours and just imagine the little people.
There is nothing wrong with being a book hoarder. Says the woman who if she could build a house would have a library in it. My favorite books are anything by Tolkien and I love reading about history.
Some of my favorite books as a child...The Secret Garden; Charlotte's Web; Stuart Little; Little Women; The Loner; Where the Red Fern Grows; The Call of the Wild; The Wind in the Willows; The Boxcar Children Series; The Happy Hollisters Series; The Betsy-Tacey Series. My all time favorite book that I first read when I was 11 y.o. (it took me all summer) is Gone with the Wind.
I have a few favorites that I've had for years: Little Lord Fauntleroy, 1906, A Child's Garden of Verses, 1926, and Princess Goldenhair and the Wonderful Flower, 1915. I also love the illustrations and their attention to every detail. XO (P.S. I am 73 and still love my childhood books and all that they represented for me. ;0)
You're weekly videos continue to restore my faith in the human spirit.....Thanks. As a retired history professor, I recommend John Adams by David McCullough.
James Herriot’s books are some of my all time favourites! My librarian in high school knew I loved them, and gave me the copies they had, since no one else was reading them.
I laughed out loud when you opened the cupboard! The moment you sat in the chair surrounded by neat towers of books is so endearing. From one book lover to another: I understand.
I am happy to see you enjoy James Herriot. I read his memoirs as a young child and then read them to my own children. They are amongst our favorites from bedtime reading days. I also read them the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit, all of the Ramona Quimby books, and much more. It is amazing to think that so many books were shared each night 10 pages at a time. Enjoy your books!
i would love to see a video about your books! your collection, favourite authors, recommendations, what kind of books you like to read, own and buy and where you buy them (:
I loved The Chronicles Of Narnia series and movies growing up. Also as a kid I loved the Animal Ark series, Puppy Patrol, Dog Diaries, and Horse Diaries. I love animals!
John Donne's poem "Elegie: To his mistress going to bed" is a romantic masterpiece. If you do not know John Clare the so called "peasant poet", his poems on the English countryside are a delight.
I just love that shot of you sitting on the chair amongst your "best friends" books and the grin on your face. You remind me of my awesome sister - who got me into reading a while back....and thanks to who I too have many "best friends". Here's to lovely days and nights spent in the company of awesome "friends".
All of the beautiful treasures you have make this channel a beautiful treasure for me to watch. Thank you so much for living such a beautifully conscientious life, and for sharing it with us! Blessings.
You’re so talented, Paola. When I was younger, I loved the ‘Nancy Drew’ stories. For some strange reason, this video is nostalgic. I want to go back to reading those stories again. They made me feel so free ❤️
I just purchased that plant stand for my home and I’m loving it!! You made yours look beautiful with a mix of plants and books. ❤️ In our home we love the Little House series and read it often. It never gets old!
Paulo Coelho, Tolkien, CS Lewis, Jane Austen, Thomas Hardy and on and on and on! Thankyou for sharing your books with us and your beautiful arrangement of plants and books and the area you live in. ❤️
The Borrowers is one of my favourite books - I still believe the little people live in my walls and 'borrow' things I mislay. I fancy I can hear them every now and again. I am still hopeful of meeting these tiny folk and holding their secret for them, and I am 69! I ardently believed as a child that if I loved my tiny pocket doll enough, she would become real. A tiny part of me still holds that dream and I still have that doll - Little Tuppence. Heidi was another favourite, and Anne of Green Gables and my own children loved Little House on the Prairie - I learned most of what I know about America from reading those books three times - for each child when they came to an age they could enjoy it. And the older chidlren always crept close to listen again once and twice more. Thanks for sharing the magic of your book collection. Sigh.
Seeing your sweet smile as you sat surrounded by your beloved books brought a smile to my face! I so appreciate getting a peek into your reading collection. Sending you, and the beautiful western states, wishes for clear skies again!
You are so inspiring i wad lost in my thoughts of what i wanted but you helped me through it all im having problems making friends but you feel like a friend sending good thoughts and peace have a amazing night or day❤️❤️✨✨
First video I watched. Brought me to tears. As a child I loved stories, fairytales, and playing with magic…now a mother who struggles everyday with depression and anxiety. I know that I forgot about the magic. It hurts to think about it.
I highly recommend The Overstory by Richard Powers. It's about how trees intersect with people's lives. It's fiction but it's very informative, it teaches you a lot about the way trees respond to their surroundings. I think you would really enjoy it!
I've always loved Watership Down and A Wrinkle in Time. They take me to other places, have strong characters, and beautiful narration! Thanks for the lovely video and books!
@@albertnaffy7436 I haven't read it in many years but what sticks with me about it is the deep, warm family relationships in the story. It's beautifully written and full of simple wisdom. I think I should read it again. I think it reminded me a bit of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books, but more literary and sophisticated than those stories.
To those who are considering reading Little Women. If you watch the movie there are 4 versions I have watched over the years. The one I think that's most like the book and my favorite has Winona Ryder as the main character. Enjoy.
The joy on your face as you sit amongst your books tells it all.....that is how I am about my fabric as I am a quilter. The book "The Silver Nutmeg" started my love of reading when I was a child. Thank you for your videos!
Another beautiful visual postcard. As some one who has lived abroad for quite some time, I can always find a lil Europe in the forest you show or is it I find a lil America in the Europe I lived in…🤔 The shelving came out so beautifully. You are so inspiring. I pray the land by you remains unscathed. Have a great week…
Books are our friends and will take us on adventures to far off lands if we let them. Brilliant using unused space in kitchen cabinets for books. Thank you for sharing.
“Come On Seabiscuit”. It’s a story about a race horse who as a young horse faced many obstacles because of his looks, was laughed and was unwanted by everyone until a kind soul saw into his heart and with love between the two of them, Seabiscuit became a champion. To me this is a story that mankind should emulate to each other. Let’s not ridicule but show compassion
I love Anna and the King with Jodie Foster for movies and I just today finished reading the first volume of the Reader’s Digest World’s Best Fairy Tales. It’s a two volume set light turquoise in color that is a collection of fairy tales from around the world. I’ve had the set since childhood and still dig them out occasionally for a bit of light reading. I also love A Little Princess and The NeverEnding Story books.
The Wind & the Willows, anything by Elsa Beskow; The Flower Festival, The Root Children, The Story of the Wind children, Mother Earth and Her Children, Thumbelina, & Children of the Forest. My favorite younger children’s book is A Present for the Princess. A Rand McNally Elf book, a rare, no longer published book!
I actually have one of Beskow's books on my kitchen wall. Children's picture books, by rule, are typically 32 pages long, and therefore fit perfectly into those stretchy plate hangers by which they can be hung.
I hope that the fires die down soon and everyone is safe. We don’t usually tend to have as much heat here but there is a old Scottish Gaelic proverb that is we use: Chan eil tuil air nach tig traoghadh which is pronounced: Ha neel tool air nah teeg troo-ah-gug This translates to: There isn't a flood which will not subside. Best wishes and lots of love
Love your smile when you open your kitchen cupboard, and see all those wonderful hardcover books, and look towards us, we viewers!! Makes me think, to get rid of cleaning 🧹 products, and re-purpose the space!!

One of my sons was the Holly Fairy, the other son was the Dandellion Fairy, one daughter was the Strawberry Fairy, and the youngest was the Apple Blossom Fairy. I had so much fun creating their costumes. They are now all adults and have good memories.
My favourite book is The Blue Castle by L.M.Montgomery (author of Anne of Green Gables) I read this every year, sometimes twice or more because it brings solace to my introvert soul!!💝
The book “A Country Woman’s Year” by Rosemary Verey with a forward by Prince Charles. Beautiful diary about the author’s garden throughout the year and the small town she lives in. Also of course “The Secret Garden”. Love the movie “Hunt for the Wilderpeople.” I really enjoyed that one. My favorite movie tho is “Enchanted April”. Soooo good!
"The world always seems brighter when you’ve just made something that wasn’t there before." Your work is pure art!! I read Once Upon a River upon your earlier suggestion..it transformed me to another world..loved it. Thank you! ❤
Laura L. I love The Phantom Tollbooth, but it was actually written by Norton Juster, who just passed away March 8th! 😢 Roald Dahl is very close to my heart though. Matilda is my all time favorite, for many reasons. :)
@@withlovekylie Ohhh I didn't know Norton Juster had died. Sorry to hear! I meant to add The Phantom Tollbooth to my recommendations but felt I was already going on too long, LOL. It is really representative of its era in some ways--like the TV show "The Prisoner", for example. It's a brilliant book, full of quirky humor and cerebral, imaginative ideas. I particularly remember--I found him genuinely frightening--the faceless gentleman monster known as the Terrible Trivium. Everybody should read Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory books, but Dahl's adult short stories are next level.
@@withlovekylie Loved (and still love) The Phantom Tollbooth. I played the Spelling Bee in a school play we did of it when I was a kid. Remember yelling "CHARGE - c. h. a. r. g. e.!" as I dashed into a battle.
How not only brave, but generous of you to show what is hidden behind your cupboard doors, and freeing - would you agree? - to bring them out. I found a bookcase last Spring the perfect depth for books. I also display stacks on a folding wooden chair and randomly throughout my home. My oldest grandson exclaimed "Wow, I didn't know you had so many books!", in a good way. Books are a multi-layered whole other world, a fantastic escape, a wealth of knowledge at our finger tips. Peace and thank you. 🤗🌻📚
I loved your collection of books. You look so happy surrounded by your books and your secret stash. My favorite books as a child are Anne of Green Gables, The Secret Garden, Amelia Bedelia, Curious George, Pippi Longstocking, and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.
When I was a child my father read me ‘Freckles’ and ‘ A Girl of the Limber Lost.’, by Gene Stratton Porter, as. well as ‘Swiss Family Robinson ‘ and many more. These books are happy childhood memories.
You are the only other person I know who has read "Girl of the Limberlost". I read it around 10 years old and have reread it often since. Some of these older books should be introduced to younger people nowadays. They have timeless themes
Finding Neverland was a WONDERFUL movie! Oh, how I wish I could afford to build a little whimsical tiny home/shed in my backyard for painting, reading, relaxing, crafting, and feeling whimsical. I would build a garden surrounding it and I'd never want to come out.

It’s like my second home there. I am so busy these days with many projects, but I try to read a little when I’ve got some extra time, which is usually in the winter.
Charlotte's Web by E.B. white is one of my favorites 📚
My favorite. 👍
Hands down, the Anne of Green Gables series by L M Montgomery.
My daughter is 40 and has her paperback series which she has read and reread! I have saved her Anne of Green Gables doll in my cedar chest! 💕
Those are truly wonderful
@@FiannaThornton74 Emily is wonderful!
I don’t see a book hoard. I see the makings of a fabulous private library. 😉🤓📚📖
Hi
Which book do you read?📚🖍🖋🖊
Could not put that book down, they even made a movie of it.
ooh yess love that one as well. O-lan is such an interesting, beautiful character.
Wednesday just would not be complete without a new video from Paola.
There is nothing wrong with being a book hoarder. Says the woman who if she could build a house would have a library in it. My favorite books are anything by Tolkien and I love reading about history.
Bibliophiles are not hoarders.
Girl same lol
Agree not Hoarders :)
Have you read Any by Isabelle Allende??
There is no such thing as a book horder, no such thing. We are keepers of knowledge. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
True classics
Yessss!! These are all amazing and favorites of mine too 😊🦋
Many favorites!
THE WORLD NEEDS YOUR PEACEFUL AND WONDERFUL TEACHING..YOU ARE A BLESSING..THANK YOU..FACT....AMEN 👍👣👣👣🌲🌲👁👁👁
I have a few favorites that I've had for years: Little Lord Fauntleroy, 1906, A Child's Garden of Verses, 1926, and Princess Goldenhair and the Wonderful Flower, 1915. I also love the illustrations and their attention to every detail. XO (P.S. I am 73 and still love my childhood books and all that they represented for me. ;0)
I love your smile when you are sitting in the middle of your books. I understand it completely. 🥰
You're weekly videos continue to restore my faith in the human spirit.....Thanks. As a retired history professor, I recommend John Adams by David McCullough.
I love to read The Wind in the Willis, especially in the Spring, when Mole is having a spring clean.
Favorite books: All Creatures Great and Small series, James Herriot. Favorite movie (and book): Out of Africa
I love these books too
James Herriot’s books are some of my all time favourites! My librarian in high school knew I loved them, and gave me the copies they had, since no one else was reading them.
I love OUT OF AFRICA. It has a great soundtrack too. My husband has been to the Karen Blixen museum in Kenya.
Out of Africa! Stunning movie!
James Herriot is underrated. I read his books over & over again. Fell in love with Yorkshire 🥰
I love, love Heidi! I can feel the air and hear the goats on the hills and hear the pines blowing in the wind when she sleeps in the loft!
I laughed out loud when you opened the cupboard! The moment you sat in the chair surrounded by neat towers of books is so endearing. From one book lover to another: I understand.
In a time of my life when I feel like i don’t measure up enough you post simplicity and it soothes my heart bless you 💐
You're enough 💛
Your videos calm me. Thank you so much. I love books about the fairy world.
I love sound of music with my whole heart xxx
I loved The Chronicles Of Narnia series and movies growing up. Also as a kid I loved the Animal Ark series, Puppy Patrol, Dog Diaries, and Horse Diaries. I love animals!
YESSSS
This week I had a lot of stress because of school, and I'm waiting for your videos to calm my mind❤️.
John Donne's poem "Elegie: To his mistress going to bed" is a romantic masterpiece. If you do not know John Clare the so called "peasant poet", his poems on the English countryside are a delight.
I'll check him out! Thanks
Me too! In fact, I still have the whole set--from decades ago! They have a special shelf all their own.
@@margietucker1719 nice! 😀
Me too! I still pick up a Nancy Drew book from time to time and reread… it takes me back to my childhood
I loved the Nancy Drew books when I was little. I was such a book worm when I was little.
I love Nancy Drew too. Actually I also love playing the older Nancy Drew computer games!
I just purchased that plant stand for my home and I’m loving it!! You made yours look beautiful with a mix of plants and books. ❤️
In our home we love the Little House series and read it often. It never gets old!
Where did you buy the plant stand, thanks.
Can you link the plant stand ? Ty

My favorite book of all time is The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. I've read it at least 8 times by now, and I recommend it to everyone.
Favorite book: The Kite Runner♥️
I see you like suffering and pain lol. Read it once for class, never reading it again! XD Tremendous book though!
You are so inspiring i wad lost in my thoughts of what i wanted but you helped me through it all im having problems making friends but you feel like a friend sending good thoughts and peace have a amazing night or day❤️❤️✨✨
That moment when you opened your lower kitchen cabinet ... and ALL the books ... Oh My!! :)
Saw a review on Instagram and I was like, wait, this sounds like s fairytale ☺️😂
I’m reading it right now and I love it. Somehow the trees really come alive in the story
That sounds fascinating! I love hanging around redwood trees.
As an ent and tree lover: noted!!
Ah the title alone captures my imagination. I’ve requested it from my library. Thanks for the suggestion.
I've always loved Watership Down and A Wrinkle in Time. They take me to other places, have strong characters, and beautiful narration! Thanks for the lovely video and books!
My favorite book is Walden by Henry David Thoreau but I also love Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. Thank you for sharing some of your favorites.
Want to read Little women, any thoughts before I start it??
Its a very good book its quite different from the movies
@@albertnaffy7436 I haven't read it in many years but what sticks with me about it is the deep, warm family relationships in the story. It's beautifully written and full of simple wisdom. I think I should read it again. I think it reminded me a bit of Laura Ingalls Wilder's books, but more literary and sophisticated than those stories.
To those who are considering reading Little Women. If you watch the movie there are 4 versions I have watched over the years. The one I think that's most like the book and my favorite has Winona Ryder as the main character. Enjoy.
Tina, interesting that you should mention that. I am also interested in transcendentalism and have read some good books about that as well.
Dogs steel the show and make me smile. The melt my heart without fail.
The joy on your face as you sit amongst your books tells it all.....that is how I am about my fabric as I am a quilter. The book "The Silver Nutmeg" started my love of reading when I was a child. Thank you for your videos!
Another beautiful visual postcard. As some one who has lived abroad for quite some time, I can always find a lil Europe in the forest you show or is it I find a lil America in the Europe I lived in…🤔
The shelving came out so beautifully.
A really fairy lives a quiet and beautiful life in this world!
Books and plants that is what fills my house. Im proud of it❤️😊love your video
We don’t usually tend to have as much heat here but there is a old Scottish Gaelic proverb that is we use:
Chan eil tuil air nach tig traoghadh
which is pronounced:
Ha neel tool air nah teeg
troo-ah-gug
This translates to:
There isn't a flood which will not subside.
Best wishes and lots of love
such a heart warming smile , when you sat with your books....a beautiful soul
Love your smile when you open your kitchen cupboard, and see all those wonderful hardcover books, and look towards us, we viewers!! Makes me think, to get rid of cleaning 🧹 products, and re-purpose the space!!

Great picks! :D The Perks of Being a Wallflower.. wowee. It's always stayed with me.
I would love to see you write your own book! How neat would that be!! "The Adventures of the Cottage Fairy"
Paola, the books in the cupboard was the cutest thing
When my children were little we read the Flower Fairy Book over and over. One Halloween where children wanted to picked there own flower fairy for their costume. One of my sons was the Holly Fairy, the other son was the Dandellion Fairy, one daughter was the Strawberry Fairy, and the youngest was the Apple Blossom Fairy. I had so much fun creating their costumes. They are now all adults and have good memories.
Watching your videos fill me with Hope and Love; they feel equivalent to meditation and prayer. Thank You.
“If I choose to loose hope, I will no longer be able to see it”. Wow, needed to hear that today, thank you 💕
My favourite book is The Blue Castle by L.M.Montgomery (author of Anne of Green Gables) I read this every year, sometimes twice or more because it brings solace to my introvert soul!!💝
Soooo good!
I really enjoyed Hunt for the Wilderpeople
Your channel is a treasure, thank you for your healing videos. Your content spreads love and hope, and makes the world a better place ❤️
You are wise beyond your years. Listening to you brings a moment of peace in my not so peaceful life. Thank you
"The world always seems brighter when you’ve just made something that wasn’t there before." Your work is pure art!! I read Once Upon a River upon your earlier suggestion..it transformed me to another world..loved it. Thank you! ❤
Oh! I’m so happy to hear that! It’s such an atmospheric book✨

My favorite book from my childhood is "The Witches" by Roald Dahl. This writer knew exactly the secret paths of a child's mind.
The phantom Tollbooth is another Dahl favorite ❤
Laura L. I love The Phantom Tollbooth, but it was actually written by Norton Juster, who just passed away March 8th! 😢 Roald Dahl is very close to my heart though. Matilda is my all time favorite, for many reasons. :)
@@withlovekylie LOL! True! I always get that mixed up with James and the Giant Peach. But I do LOVE Fantastic Mr. Fox ❤
When my third dishwasher went out I threw it out and make a bookshelf inserted to fit all my cookbooks
Michelle Miller who grew up in St. Matthew’s, SC??
Good idea!
My favourite book as a child would have been ‘Little Women’ and I loved the film ‘ The Wizard of Oz’
Favorite books The Alchemist 🌸Paulo Coleho and Hind's Feet on High Places 🌸 Hannah Hurand
Finding Neverland was a WONDERFUL movie! Oh, how I wish I could afford to build a little whimsical tiny home/shed in my backyard for painting, reading, relaxing, crafting, and feeling whimsical. I would build a garden surrounding it and I'd never want to come out.
We are both bibliomaniacs! I love it when I see younger people, enjoy books, as much as I do!
