@@LifewithSerg You're right! I think back about 4 years ago and sometimes it seems like yesterday, so like you said, it will be sooner than I think. I try to get to Thailand about once a year and have friends scattered around the country, so that helps. Yeah, these bikes are great. I’ve got almost 10,000 km on mine and I’ve only owned it for about 10 months. However, I think I’m ready for something a little bit bigger for some of these longer trips.
Hi Serg, enjoyed this video (and all of your videos for that matter). If you find yourself in Phetchabun during your northern bike tour please get in touch. We have a small group of American, British and German expats here that have a little scooter riding club. We do a ride every week or so in Khao Kho and the surrounding mountains. Would be great if you could join us for a ride.
Yeah, the weather isn’t great so I think some of the gorgeous viewpoints might be a skip on this trip. I’ll come back and hit them when the weather is better.
We love staying at Hi Chiang Rai every rime we're in town. There's a great Korean restaurant just 100m up the road in bar street. We enjoy your videos but have gotta ask why you ride so far each day and don't stop at the little towns on the way to your big destinations? We drive about 15,000km each year that we're in Thailand for 5 months and always enjoy the small towns much better than the tourist destinations. We'll leave bkk as soon as this long weekend is over for a 2 month drive up to kamphaeng phet, pitsananulok, lampang, lampoon, Chiang rai, Chiang mai then through isaan along the Mekong.
You don’t see everything that I do on these trips. I stop in lots of little towns. Usually the beginning of the trip I try to get wherever I’m starting as fast as possible. I typically only do a couple hours each day. But some days on the strip, I’ve had to write a lot farther because I’m covering so much distance on this whole loop. Thanks for watching.
Hi Serg, im only at the first episode of the tour, so maybe by question is obsolete at the end, but could you do a review of the ADV 160 in regard to the trip at the end?
I’ve put 11 1/2 thousand kilometers on it over the last 10 months. All over Thailand. I haven’t had any issues with it whatsoever. I might make a separate video reviewing it at some point.
Clockwise, when at a festival in Nakhon Sawon a number of years ago, it didnt take long before the crowd walked in an orderly fashion in a clockwise direction, no one there giving direction, the locals just did it, the west could learn much from Thailand.
SUPER good video… Arriving BKK Aug. 30… Do you ride your bike in the city or just when touring around the country… I rented an ADV 160 when I was in Hua Hin last year… Great scooter… 🙏🏻
Honestly, I don’t write it much around the city unless I have somewhere specific to go. I typically take BTS because it’s only about eight minute walk from where I live. The bike doesn’t get a ton of use, but it’s got almost 10,000 km on it already and it’s not even a year that I’ve owned it. Hope you have a great time in Bangkok.
I think part of the problem is you have a lot of foreigners that I’ve never ridden a motorbike and they learn in this country. I am being careful, thank you for your concern.
Hi Serge, loving the channel. How did you find the Honda ADV 160. I am looking at a big few months around Thailand and am trying to decide between the 160 or 350. What are your thoughts.
I’ve owned this bike for a little over 10 months. I believe I have almost 12,000 km on it. Absolutely zero problems. The bikes I had in the US mostly 600 cc sport bikes, BMW R1200 GS adventure bikes, and stuff like that. I bought the 160 because I live in Bangkok. I think the 350s are a little too fat getting around the city. Also, once you get to that size, I feel you’re better off with a real motorcycle. However, if those are your choices and you’re going to spend a couple of months, I think you’ll find the 350 a lot more Comfortable and capable. Out at about 114 km an hour, but 106-108 is about as fast as I’d like to push it on prolonged basis. I just feel that the 350 cc end up scooters are bloated.
Great video! i am planning on being in SEA at least 6 months a year, starting in 2-3 years, and want to tour several countries on motorbike. What's your opinion on the best middleweight touring bikes available over there right now?
I’ve been writing motorcycles for over 30 years and I’m a big fan of Honda. I think I’m going to buy the Honda NX 500 at the end of this year. Take a look at that model.
@@LifewithSerg thanks for the response, i'll have to check it out. that's an updated CB500X isn't it? Being a big tall guy with long legs, seat height is a huge factor for me. I've been looking at the BMW R 1250GS because of that.
It's been a couple of videos now you driving with your headlight (the big ones) on, indicated by the blue light in your display. You forgot or why is that? :D
I have been riding with the high beam on during the day for 30 years. It’s easier for people to see me this way. I turn it off at night. Just during the day for extra visibility.
I can't ride on a scooter more than 3 hours before my butt really starts hurting. Do you have any advice to make the ride better? I realize you can get a custom sear or maybe wear gel insert shorts underneath, but any other pointers?
Well, let me start off by saying that I bruised the hell out of my coccyx 8 months ago and it’s still not fully healed. It adds a little more discomfort, but here is my advice. I’ve been writing motorcycles for over 30 years. The trick is just to get off the bike every hour and stretch. I don’t care how comfortable of a seat you have, Three hours is just too long. I try to get off the bike every one to two hours.
@@keithd1219OMG!! Someone just pointed out the typo. I was dictating so instead of coccyx, Siri put in something else. I truly hate how bad side is. Lol. Sorry if that threw you off!
Pretty good daily mileage on that scoot. Riding in the rain? Keep your feet and your crotch dry and all else will be okay. Never been to Chiang Rai, may head up there next trip, looks nice.
Serg, please do a video to refute and expose Apple's ill portay of Thailand. What is with that hate Apple? Disgusting misinformation. Thailand should sue them in international court.

I think part of the problem is you have a lot of foreigners that I’ve never ridden a motorbike and they learn in this country. I am being careful, thank you for your concern.
Have a nice trip safe and sound
Thank you, I will
nice vdo
Thanks!
Thanks Serg
I appreciate you taking the time to reply. Sadly leaving Thailand on the 11th after over three months travelling Thailand and Vietnam
คุณขับมอเตอร์ไซค์เก่งมากในระยะไกล😊
Thanks! See you soon.
Yes There are a lot of beautiful places, don't drive past them.
Not super hungry? You ate a large part of what the market had to offer.
lol. Trust me, I could eat a lot more. 🙃
@@LifewithSerg ahhh I understand. Cool man 👌
Enjoy your trip I sure enjoy your watching it
Ohh a ramount mount.. did you buy it in Bangkok? They are one of the best phone mounts. I need one fir my car..
It’s actually a Motowolf. I also don’t put my iPhone in there. I bought a cheap Hono android phone, and I use that strictly for navigation.
@@LifewithSerg Cheers, thank you.
Stay safe on your journey Serg. That truck wreck looked horrible. Can't wait for the next episode.🙏
Yeah, I don’t think whoever was in that second truck wreck made it.
How much in baht to fill your bike and how many KMs do you get from a tank?👍🇦🇺
I can go about 250km on a tank and it’s about 2&0 baht to fill it.
so they have Ural bikes in Thailand?
I’ve definitely seen at least 2 or 3 of them.
@LifewithSerg Thanks bud, appreciate the advice. Be safe 🙏
@@keithd1219OMG!! Someone just pointed out the typo. I was dictating so instead of coccyx, Siri put in something else. I truly hate how bad side is. Lol. Sorry if that threw you off!
@LifewithSerg I was a cop for 30 years...nothing at all shocks me. I figured you meant your coccyx because you've mentioned that before.
Count how many times serg said Hungry
Did I mention I was hungry? 🤔😬
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🙃👍
Pretty good daily mileage on that scoot. Riding in the rain? Keep your feet and your crotch dry and all else will be okay. Never been to Chiang Rai, may head up there next trip, looks nice.
I’ve got full rain gear, so I’ll be OK. It’s a really cool area, you definitely should check it out sometime.
13:54 I think she the one of you fan

What you cannot eat, hold a camera, and an umbrella , and walk and talk at the same time ? Lol
Ha ha ha. Right? What a wimp I am. lol.
Serg, please do a video to refute and expose Apple's ill portay of Thailand. What is with that hate Apple? Disgusting misinformation. Thailand should sue them in international court.
Ha ha. I only watched a few minutes of it. I didn’t find it offensive, but it just wasn’t interesting to me.
Serg, been watching your videos for over a year. They're great but please stop describing everything as 'Super' it's super annoying! Keep up the good work tho
It’s super cool! 🙃
