i havent seen it so lush since they cut down all that it looks beautiful! looks like NS does what they do best here at the curve showing off to railfans such as us!! to see an NS coal coming up that fast he must've came through Rose Interlocking with a All Clear and probably got a head start on the hill with some units added on at Rose Interlocking you should've done a video at the Galitzen Tunnels awesome spot to see! nice job! Once in Pittsburgh NS has 3 different lines following the Rivers
thats true i live exactly 2 hours from here and i go just about yearly and its a beautiful place!!! i love this video!! The Amtrak 3 Rivers doesnt go through there actually it goes from Pittsburgh to Cinninati then to Chigaco and Back but they do run a daily 4 car Amtrak Train lead by 1 P42DC its a nice thing to see!!
it is a nice place to go if gas prices keep dropping maybe you'll be able to go its a really nice place to go i go just about yearly its only 2 hrs from me so its easy for me to go there
The NS Line by me averages 100 + trains a day its even got a CSX Main Line you should Check out CSX'S Sandpatch its a really neat palce as well ahvent been tehre my self but plan to go eventually
My teacher said this was one of the 3 places hitler wanted to blow to hell and back, b/c this was a way they supplies coke and coal to pittsburgh for steel
I still persist in calling them "Van trains" from old Erie Lackawanna days. Intermodal to me is COFC-containers on flatcars. But to everyone else it's all intermodal.
Hated to see Conrail go, but I'm so glad the ex PRR didn't go to CSX....they wouldn't have been very good at running a railroad like this with heavy grades and high train density. Norfolk Southern is a much better railroad than CSX, hands down.
CSX has improved, but they just are not as good of a railroad as NS is, by virtually every measure. They don't have the culture of being proud to be a railroad. NS is a far better company than CSX.
I remember seeing this very curve back in 1951 as a little kid on vacation with parents...thanks for posting video clip !
Awesome meet and catches!
Good job a cold train international and train in the park
nice video Bryan and great catch of all the train's in your video.
Wow, i havn't been to the Curve since the Conrail days, and I never saw a meet as good as that up there! 5*
Ahh the sound of the wheels grinding against the rails... heard that sound every summer for 7 summers straight :)
