When this song came out, the blend of the two vocalists had a very original sound. They influenced some other bands who brought female vocalists into metal or post hardcore. It feels calm but edgy at the same time. Very few bands had this unique style then.
Female vocalists combined with harsh male vocals have been in metal since the early 90s. There was a whole genre of this that was popular from roughly 95 to about 2005 or so. Maybe this was just the first MTV friendly band to do it, but Doom, Death, Black, and Goth metal bands have been at it for 30 years.

I thought the overall story was really effective. The framing and color grading is spot on. Did you notice how non-reflective the blacks and metal objects are? It's cinematic AF. As a film maker, this video is an inspiration!

I could relate to this, during my mom’s second marriage. They would fight so much that I would have panic attacks. I couldn’t sleep, wishing I was somewhere else or dead. I was about to take my own life when they got a divorce because I was emotionally fucked up. My boyfriend (whom I’ve been with for 5 years), helped me get through it, we would talk late at night and was there to help claim my anxiety. Now I’m doing so much better, I’ve learn to cut out toxic shit out of my life and to keep moving forward no matter what happens. For those of you who are struggling, don’t take your own life. It will effect everyone around you who do love and care about you. Please reach out to someone and get help. Life is precious when you do get passed all of the shitty things❤️🖤
