- How I survived 4 days of Oxford Interviews!!
Sorry I haven't been posting (IB EE TOK Stuff ugh you get it) but I'm back :D Starting off a series of Oxford videos with my overall interview experience
Things like specific subject videos, what my dorm looks like, what the food was like, etc etc will come in later videos, but here's an overview of how the interviews were like!

These UK-oriented videos will be sent every few vids, with some videos on Uchicago, MUN, CommonApp, essays, and since the IB Major exams are coming up: IB REVIEW AND PREP VIDS! (Feel my absolute. excitement. through. the. screen.)

I know that this is a very personal question but can I ask you what your predicted grades are/were? ☺️
I hope I will be able to come to Oxford this December when I apply to Trinity College. Why did you decide to use an open application instead of choosing a college?
Sonnenlein Thank you :D It means a lot to me that you took the time and replied with a longish comment :P I was predicted a 45 - I’ll elaborate on my IB stuff in further videos!! I chose open application because though I really really liked Christchurch especially, I decided that my limited knowledge of the quality of education in each college wasn’t enough to possibly jeopardise my chances of getting into any specific one! I was so happy that Hertford chose me in the end though :D
Writing comments is the only thing I can do in exchange for all the effort you put in all your videos ☺️
Huge respects for your predicted grades!!! 🔝 Based on the fact that I chose to take history, I won't be able to get such great scores... 😅
When I was younger I visited Christchurch myself and I was very impressed! It is such a beautiful building and the fact that they filmed the Harry Potter movie in there... amazing ❤️✨ Nevertheless, I experienced the extensive number of tourists that wanted to visit that college first hand. I think it could be quite annoying after a while (I also fell in love with Trinity) 😊

This is pretty crazy, I have been watching your video to get info for UCAS and stuff, didn't realize you live in Shanghai... As I'm a Shanghainese who lives in Canada and is trying to apply for E&M(Might be switching to PPE after watching your videos...) and I am a huge MUN kid too.........

How did the exam you took at the college compare to the TSA? What was the subject matter and difficulty level?
Samuel Shih It was very different! The interview exam was very very specific to the subjects I were interviewing for, while the TSA I didn’t find particularly difficult... There were some parts that were comparable though! I will upload a video on the pre-interview exam soon so ~~ (shameless self promo: subscribe to stay tuned heh)

Thomas Chau it will be the same! except if you screwed up on a specific section your first time then they will focus on that your second time (for me it was game theory)

Emma_xx_ Xx That's only for my college (Hertford!) -- To my knowledge no other Oxford college does this, though I do know that some questions on the written test and interview questions overlap. It's meant to be an impromptu, no preparation quiz; but it turned out to be 1.5 hours long and pretty rigorous -- I'll be posting Oxford videos mainly in the month of Nov (except the TSA vid which is out in a day or two) -- So stay tuned to that if you're interested!! ♡
