I bought 3 weeks ago the Sharp Plasmacluster air purifier. I did a check before I started it: I used a flashlight in the dark room and I was really surprised how manxy particles of whatever was in the air. After running the air purifier 3 hours the particles was nearly gone, I could sxee with my flashlight only some very small particles in the air. It seems that it works, but maybe not the 99.9 %. I have the feeling that it comes to 95%, but that is already better as 0% .

The noise level depends on the 1-3 settings with how hard you want the machine to work. You can also upgrade the filters and get one better for pet hair and smells which is a must have in my home. I noticed the air seemed lighter and easier to breathe when running the machine for the first time. Works great every time. Highly recommended!
I love the linguistic gymnastics Sharp went though to avoid saying it has a built-in ozone generator. I guess (plasmacluster technology) tested better in those focus groups lol.
Aren't those oxidizing free radicals the stuff in the air that speeds up the aging process? Or is it a different type of oxidizing free radical that causes aging apart from ions?
@@MegaIkedog yeah you're right. whats the point of UV light when the filter trap most if not all bacteria. i think ionizer is somewhat dangerous to human health anyways regardless of studies.
@K i would like to think like that too. but almost all UV is internal. the bacteria and dust is trap on the other side of the filter. UV is supposely to destroy bacteria, mold or whatever that passes through the filter. but the passes is so small margin it would make it difference for the uv to eliminate it. if the UV on the outskirt of the filter than we know it clean the filter. but in most case, no air purifier system used UV to clean the filter.

A True Hepa filter IS really all you need in an air purifier. You don't need a UV light or ionizer.
