I am introducing you to the clans and bloodlines of vampires that exist within the world of darkness. In this episode I showcase the Salubri, a clan of healers. This nearly extinct clan seeks to find golconda, a balance between man and beast. The Tremere have nearly drove them to extinction, using them as a stepping stone to gain true status as a clan. In these modern days, only a handful of true blooded Salubri remain. Many bloodlines and variants remain, but they are more in number then this parent clan, which was once three castes, one of the healers, one of the warriors who would fight the baali, and a caste of watchers, children of the east when the founder of the clan reached golconda. They are also know for their third eye, a sign of the path to reach golconda.

@@esteban20969564 Not all characters have to be the stereotyped thing you have in your head. Personally, I think the Salubri splits due to loss of Saulot. Is what caused their changes throughout time anyway. Vampire or not, they still have personas and those personas will always grow. Without the "Code of Samiel" But knowing that the Tremere had usurped their Clan. Being bitter with the Tremere makes perfect sense. They also knew that their pacifist brethren would not join them in War. So, yea. The Salubri in the Sabbat do not ALL have to be angry rage monsters that just want to tear apart the Camarilla. They could ha ve their own persona entirely and just offer their skills in return for something else.
There are more than 7 Salubri around. Far more. They just hide among the icconu (sp?) or as you said in near or complete isolation; some also hide among the Assamite, Tzimisce, or even within the Tremere.
Just wish you would have briefly explained the unique clan abilities.
Thanks for doing this, the Salubri were always my favorite clan and I always allowed to play them in a dark age or modern campaign.

The Salubri did get dominate in v5, makes you wonder if there's a reason for that...
I never did like how the Salubri have Valeren but each "caste" has it's own variant. The disciplines really are different although there are some common techniques among them (namely, the first two technique levels of Valeren and Obeah which are identical and both result in the opening of the third Eye), and the Watcher "caste" should really be considered a separate bloodline with a common antediluvian.
If you have the ability to play an old Salubri, make sure a technique list is compiled which describes the changes to the technique levels (I have one I am willing to share if asked); the changes highlight the evolution of teaching the techniques but can appear overwhelming when trying to decide how to proceed when learning techniques.
I agree with you. It is interesting that they didn't make two different disciplines until modern day. I mean, they aren't the only clan that has older disciplines have slightly alternate paths for the various castes at the early portions of this, but the salubri castes are so distinct, I am surprised they were treated this way too. And I agree, that the watchers really are their own bloodline, even though they tend to be treated as a variant. I think because of their origins, it sounds like other vampires in the WoD lump them together as another caste and gave them their nickname. If you read about them, they didn't maintain the connection enough with the other Salubri to be a caste. It's just vampiric prejudice. I do like them, that it makes more sense for them and Valeren in a way, since they can switch their castes. I haven't read up in the book if this means they can switch the components of their discipline, but I assume this is how it works. Thanks for the offer for information on the old abilities, sharing it for folks that need it, too! It can be very confusing.

@@cronk3468 when saulot returned from asia, he left behind a salubri bloodline/caste called the watchers. They have their own culture and they use their disciplines in a different way
There are three Valeren paths, healer, warrior and watcher. They are by far my favorite clan.
