Tires not rated for that speed , pressed hard against the drum must have rapidly built heat . I had a nice low mile '79 Continental Mark V that I put new tires on , that very day I was tooling across the 401 a major highway at 160k it wasn't too long the right front tread peeled off half way and beat the lower fender to death . Closest I ever came to shittin myself . I freaked out on my tire guy and that's when I learned about speed ratings on tires .
