Cette version de Wiihelmj...une monstuosité...une trahison de Paganini...comment Gitlis a-t-il pu jouer çà...,?ceci dit le talent immense de cet homme merveilleux passe à travers toute chose....c'est son génie....
Sorry guys...as much as i love Gitlis & Paganini...this arrangement is terrible!...neither the Wilhelm nor the Kreisler arrangements work for me...They take away all the "Paganini" in it!...might as well be a symphony!
i never liked the Kreisler version, but this Wilhelmj is kinda cool. all the technical passages are untouched, but the orchestra part is almost completely re-written, and is a lot juicier than the original. does not replace Nicolo's original of course, but it's a fun addition. i first heard this in Bronislaw Gimpel's recording, from probably around the same time as this Gitlis version.
