This is a cover version I did of the beautiful "I Giorni" by Ludovico Einaudi. You may notice that this recorded version of the piece differs from the original compositional structure, because I play only from my own ear and memory. The piece is recorded and filmed on my "slightly" out of tune Yamaha acoustic piano. Thank you for listening.

I experimented with some extra reverb on this song, that is probably what you are hearing :)

Seems to me your playing with the mute rail.

That is also true, you will see me doing that in all of my videos. I think it is a much softer and warmer tone :)

@@pianist It can be a nice effect, and it does kinda fit the music you are playing. It sounds nice and peaceful.
But personally I don't actually like to play with the mute rail. I think there's not enough control over the sound, and there's also some strange noises here and there. But the experience is probably a bit different in different piano's.

Yes, I do agree with you. It gives a nice effect to some pieces, while other pieces sound "better" with the regular string sound.
The mute rail makes for a more intimate sound with all of its warmth and small noises here and there, which contributes to my attempt of recreating for the listener the exact feeling I experience when I sit and play it for myself. A piano is made up of lots of mechanical moving parts which may create noises, but that's also part of its wholeness. :)

It is a pretty standard Yamaha upright piano, but here you see it from a different perspective without the front and top panels, which may cause some confusion :)

Do you think you can open a patreon or something so I can pay you for piano lessons?
