Literally the definition of sinat chinam. Don't always demand a source. Use your head! What kind of God do you think Hashem is? Neviim and Chazal say we are married to Hashem. What kind of marriage is it, if one spouse is so exacting, has zero understanding or tolerance for even the slightest mistake from their partner, especially in a generation so far removed from Sinai? Who wants to be in a marriage like that? So many jews are raised without any understanding of Hashem, Torah, mitzvot, how can we expect anything of them? If they've heard anything about Torah, they've heard that God is like I've just said chas veshalom. If we are to have any hope of getting them to start treating Hashem properly and keeping all the mitzvot to exacting standards like we really aught to, we have to first teach them the truth about Him, like Rabbi Friedman does in such an incredible, real way. Just use your head! If you disagree with Rabbi Friedman, explain why he is wrong, not just why you are right! I strongly recommend learning some chassidus, some chabad chassidus, direclty.
