Instructions: rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-148982/LarrysLego/thomas/#details FAQ: Why didn't I use a 1x2 black piece instead? - It sounds good in theory, but the result is that Thomas's "neck" looks SUPER wide if I do that. Why don't you use [x piece] for the dome? - That piece probably doesn't exist in dark azure. I looked for a lot of alternatives.
Just from the thumbnail of this video alone. Already I'm loving this Thomas model. I'll have to try building one of my own. It'll go great with the Lego Train Scale version I currently have.
Thanks mate! I don't mean to "compete" with Thomas the LEGO Engine by any means - I like to think we work in different scales, with their models much smaller than mine, despite the same 4-wide width. I love their models and they have inspired parts of mine 😄
Great! Now here's a suggestion. You could use a small circle made out of blue (or any color you please) vinyl on the center of the wheel, therefore the wheels finally match the body and maybe add a smaller circle in the center of the previous one for more detail and it's not illegal! (I think)
I'm in love with this man! The stickers and bright blue color used makes this such a fun model to look at! 1 suggestion though, under the pizza tiles, perhaps replace the blue with black 1×2s so it's hidden a bit better! Other than that, love the stickers and tiny details put into this, great job!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you think so :D As I said for another comment, I tried that, it made his "neck" (for lack of a technical term) look SUPER wide.
You did a fantastic job on Thomas! I love the new face and I like how you dud the stripes! I did want to mention though, the normal Lego blue would’ve actually been accurate since it’s very similar to the shade of blue used in Season 5 but the blue you chose is just as good! Great job!
I should have noted that Thomas's shade of blue did in fact change - but still, this is certainly the shade most associate with him. Thank you so much!
One small suggestion, just to have as many brick built details as possible, maybe replace the front window stickers with 1x1 yellow round studs with holes? Absolutely great model though, the detail at such a small scale is amazing!
This and youre other Thomad and Non-Thomas models are amazing! I do wonder if you plan on doing and of the tender engines (James, Henry, etc) and maybe use some sort of rope or chain to keep the tenders from being apart of the engine itself
I've been binging quite a few of your vids and I'm always impressed at the great quality of builds and edits! Have you ever considered submitting any of your models to Lego ideas? I think they would be super popular and pretty realistic to become a set
I'm happy to hear you've been enjoying them :D Thanks! I have - this sort of thing has been attempted before, Lego aren't great with Ideas when it comes to trains, plus, I don't think Mattel (current owner of Thomas franchise) would make it so easy
It's looks great. But you could flip the dome over with a Technic half pin with a stud on the end. It would spin more easily. Just throwing that out there, it is your model as long as you are happy with it.
Will you do stories and remakes with these Thomas and your other lego engines? After seeing the running session, I’d like to see you make your own stories and remakes
I've made three completed small 4 stud wide LEGO trains ( witch are my original characters) . but this channal relly push me to make more. you make awsome stuff man .
when a video is published on this channel im happy bc your videos are very cool thomas looks very good!!! btw how about that brick game i talked about🤔
@@LarrysLego Nice! I think I may have asked you before 😅. I just hope you'll keep the TVs design for your customs. I don't like RWS Toby for his blue side plates. Anyways, I can't wait to see other engines in your Lego style! Like Percy, Salty and maybe a tender engine or two!
1:58 you could use one of those rounded 1*2 black pieces instead i think... it would make the wheel arch look a bit thinner but maybe it's a good compromise?
Got an idea for Thomas’s dome: you could use part 4274 (in any color cause it won’t show) to put the piece you’re currently using on the other direction. While it won’t make the hole go away, it’ll make it smaller so it looks less like a funnel. Also have you ever considered lightsaber handles for engines with skinnier funnels?
Hey Larry, it’s me again. I commented on your video about Edward and I was about to order the Thomas instructions and I realised that you added stickers and I came to ask how you made/got them?
I print onto adhesive paper, but if you really want, you can just use normal paper and stick the face on. The instructions should come with an image file of the face that you can print. The lining is done with adhesive vinyl but you can buy red pinstriping for modelling. Hope this helps!
@@LarrysLego it does tysm 😊👍 could you also try and make Percy for me because I would love to see him in your collection (also because I need a lego Percy so badly 😂)
But the first Thomas you made was awful I'm so happy you improved it because the blue you used dark azure looks much more accurate and accurate to Thomas's season 8 to season 10 live action model with the moving eye mechanism and the rest.

Aww, how sweet 😊 Happy to hear it!

I'm surprised you haven’t made Annie and Clarabel yet
I actually attempted this at the time of making the first model, but I wasn't happy with the result at all. I will likely revisit the idea, though!

Thank you! Right here on my rebrickable :)
rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-148982/LarrysLego/thomas/#details
What website did you design your own LEGOs on? And what device did you use?
I used Bricklink Studio! Free software for Windows and Mac
(4:30) Where can I find those narrow gauge tracks? I can only find curves and slopes on my Lego build software, but no straights or switches.
Thomas is a class E2 tank engine 0-6-0
very nice is very good
this Thomas is better than the last one
This looks so cool.
Wowwwww i Really like how i came out the model is pretty good the running board is a bit long but is ok😊
1:58 you could use one of those rounded 1*2 black pieces instead i think... it would make the wheel arch look a bit thinner but maybe it's a good compromise?
It's possible, not a bad suggestion! I'm not sure I'd go with it though as it would make his front view look a little messy with so much black.
Unfortunately the piece still would be a bit visible which is annoying! But thanks for the suggestion :) That could work for a skinny funnel

aww it looks cute tbh now do james
Maybe you should make the front bumper a bit lower with an slope
Much easier said than done, and I see where you're coming from, but I think that'd be too low. I appreciate the feedback!
Super Mario Bros 2 playing In the background in the end
I think the next model you should make Thomas’s best friend Percy
what website did you use for planning out the model
Bricklink Studio!
Cool video! But i have question: how do your trains move? I dont see any string atached to them. Are they powered?
No they aren’t powered but idk how they move but that’s all I know
you know you could've used black tiles for the wheel arches since Thomas's smoke Box is typically seen in between the gap and its tanks
Yes, but the gap isn't almost the entire width of Thomas. It would look much too wide, in my opinion.
Can You Make a James Model Please Also Your Lego Models are Cool👍
I honestly think that if Lego and Mattel would buddy up and make LEGO ttte, They should do the range in the scale.
IRL the e2 were giant compared to Gordon and were that long so horbe was right to use a normal e2 and Thomas is a e2
where do you buy the pieces for the moc?
All you need now is Edward.
2:38
What do u use for online building and instruction making ??
Bricklink Studio!
One thing to add is a dome piece on his dome yea thats a real peice
One that small is not a real piece, let alone existing in Dark Azure
I know pin striping was painful enough, but can you please add pin striping to his rear. C'mon it's only 4 stripes
I just prefer the post-S2 look honestly
@LarrysLego at least do the lining on the front of the tanks 🥺
I am still waiting for lego Percy :)

hey larry i have a suggestion for your next train intercity 125 and a coach or the deltic and a flatbed with some steel bars
