Well be that as it may the fact that everyone who can afford them and is able to buy them IS buying them tells the tale. China didn't try to steal Eurofighter plans or Rafale plans or any other 4.5 gen aircraft plans.

In the summer of 1967, we met a British Vulcan crew at Guam. They invited us out to the runway the next morning to view their max performance takeoff. She accelerated with her trademark scream, reached the perigee of runway 06R and lifted off, going 90 degrees nose-up and disappearing in short order. Later that year, we were delayed taking off from Kadena AFB as the SR-71 taxied by and performed an equally spectacular takeoff. Memories of days that will never come again.

@@lukemaney645 seen the B1,B52 and the vulcan many times at air shows. I find the B52 a little boring because it's so cumbersome. The B1 looks great and makes a lot of noise, but the vulcan is a showstopper because of its looks, the noise it makes and most of all, it handles like a fighter, doing a tight display almost within the confines of the airfield. My all-time favourite aircraft at airshows. Sadly we'll never see one in the air again 😔

I grew up with them. I have fond memories of them shattering the silence when we had afternoon tea on a Sunday at my Aunts'. I thought it was fantastic but, afterwards. I could go home to peace and quiet. My Aunt and Uncle weren't too keen as they had to endure them being made ready for flight 24/7 and the whole house would vibrate.
That was at Finningley (now DSA) where they were based.

I grew up in Tucson, AZ just outside of Davis-Monthan AFB. RAF squadrons trained there in the winter. Some of my earliest memories in Tucson where of these flying overhead.

Its absolutely mind blowing to now that this ol gal has the same engine and amount of them as an early type 42 destroyer, no wonder you can feel it when taxiing and why she so loud....

What a brute. Awesome. And BRITISH!! That take off is something you'll never see from a B52. A huge dark bat, bringing death, destruction and a nuclear Armageddon. Eerily beautiful and terrifying.
From the days when we really were the best.
