First Portuguese Factory built in 1503 ( Cochin ) by Afonso Albuquerque. Same for Portuguese Fort or European fort or factory
Second factory at Kannur in 1505.

Thank you for the detailed lecture sir. However, I am confused regarding Portuguese. A simple google search gives out - 1st Portuguese Factory at Calicut by Pedro Alvarez Cabral in 1500. Could you please clarify this ? 2nd Factory was at Cochin ( which was 1st according to the lecture )

Hi. At Calicut they established their transit port, not an actual factory. First factory was at Cochin only.

Sir according to spectrum chapter 3, the first factory of English was established in Surat in 1613 and then second at masulipattnam in 1616. Please clarify the confusion.

It was a transit point and not a factory. (It is wrongly mentioned over there)

Yes, They shifted to South due to interference of Mughals in their business, and since the southern states were ruled by Independent Kingdoms, therefore it was easy to trade from there. (By mistake i mentioned it as on the western coast)
