I didn't know fungus was an issue on blackberries. However, the last crop I had did have some nasty looking berries I'm sure were fungus. Thanks for the heads up! Always learning from you. BTW my blackberries are in Earthboxes and I got 3 crops last year.

You've PROVEN that EBs are great for blackberries!!!
I had one in there 2 years, but you are extending that time.
      Great news! 👍😎

I’m in NE Florida, so I missed my window.
I tied all of my floracanes up last weekend, I’ve got tons of laterals sprouting and several clusters of berries already. I’m treating for fire ants now, and will be fertilizing in a week or so.
My goats got loose early fall and defoliated all of my berries, and tipped all of my canes. Hopefully no more Houdini moves so I can get lots of berries this year!

Ha ha ha… Yes, those roots will penetrate the bottom of the grow bags. I had that happen to me in the past.
Just dig them up, pot them up, and you will have new plants. 👍🏻😎

This one has its place, but I just not sure if I like it better than a pump up for fungicide.
I will probably use it for insecticide on my vegetables, and definitely for a fogger around the house if we get a lot of mosquitoes.

I have some unused tubs, but since mine are getting kind of old, I really feel like I need to keep them as replacements. Sorry.
Ask around at some of the Feed stores, etc. and see if they know any ranchers that have any for sale.
Coming out of the winter there ought to be a bunch of them for sale…
      Or to be given away.

Alan, I have one of those Ryobi sprayers. I've had mixed results with it. Mine wants to just sputter more than fog (even when I hold it level). I just picked up one of the Ryobi electrostatic sprayers from HD for $19 (tool only - new on a flash sale). I have not tried it yet, but it has multiple orifices and I'm hoping for better results this year.

Some of mine are already blooming , I’ve never sprayed mine with anything.. do I need to spray them

    • @BIGALTX
      @BIGALTX  7 месяцев назад

If they are already blooming, I don’t think I would spray them. This is mainly for fungus.
If you don’t have a fungus problem or a rust problem, you’ll probably be OK.
Once they start producing berries, I think you can spray them with a fungicide, once there are no blooms.
But, I think it’s time to fertilize too. I fertilize mine a couple of days ago. Since they are starting to put out a lot of new growth, I think they need some fertilizer.
