@@lucas_vermeire That's weird. Not to say anything bad about the organizers, but I just rewatched flag parades to compare and 2016 stood out to me as a bad one because that fashion show distracted from the entering contestants for me. In the Netherlands, they came in like the gladiators they are.
I must admit a high HI-TECH level of Eurovision in Netherlands. The scene is like a space craft. Unbelieveable...I don't remember nothing like this for last decade. And I love this state because of techno, trans, rave, club and progressive music in which Netherlands are music-maker of Europe...❤🇺🇦
@@rachelladiary Personally I thought there was too much going on in 2019 show (the unnecessarily long show, that out of tune/autotuned Madonna interval act no one asked for), even though they still did a good job imo. I love this year's show because it's a little more subdued and understated but still really effective

For 13 months, 2021 saw 16,549,410 views, while 2022 saw 16,564,088 views in 5 weeks. Why is this so? According to them, 2021 was superior to 2022. No comments because the figures said it so.
@@boytiti5446 Every year, online engagement for Eurovision increases. It's a natural thing. Also the actual show on TV had much smaller viewing figures this year, many might have been watching online instead as there was an increase in viewers for the online streams.
For the first time since i watch the esc i rewatched the opening alot. The music was epic and well made for an opening, the stage with the light on the top was awesome and i liked the dancing in it. I loved this.
This was just one of the best editions I've watched in years in staging terms! Dank u, Nederland from Italy! I really hope next year my country won't disappoint you all, it will be hard, but I hope they will arrange an amazing show.
Sadly, as an Italian, they're more likely to be thinking "We're the best, we'll certainly do better", because unfortunately that's how it works and I really fear this kind of mindset. I really hope they will take it seriously and do something worth of the honour we're getting!
Rewatching this after Eurovision 2022. This show was the best in the last decade and will be legendary. So many good songs and artists. This years Eurovision looked trash compared to this one.
But also artists who didn't join in with the contest but were able to do an act, were also NL bc we have a lot of known people. Like Tiësto, Ilse de Lange etc.
Eurovision Song Contest 2021 was simply out of this world. Everything about the production was on another level entirely. Vastly superior to the 2022 edition. The songs in 2021 were top quality. Best Eurovision by a mile. Hopefully the UK can pull off something as spectular in 2023.

Yes, i like the flag parade too, but in the Olympics all countries parade, even some pacific island-nations that have only one athlete. Here it's only the ones that compete in the finals. :(

Netherlands set a new standard for the ESC. Atmosphere and Tech was amazing, even though it was still during the pandamic, without live Audience and with Iceland participating without even beeing there. Amazing Job.

I felt the same. It was as if they wanted to spare some time for other parts of the show, like all the interval acts and the voting. It was still a nice opening though!
The organizers aimed to finish the show in under 4hrs. Tel Aviv 2019 lasted 4hrs 10 mins. That's why some segments are quite short, but pretty efficient.

I liked this part quite much in the beginning. That was different to the flag parades before and really cool. And I agree that the Dutch did a great job. Actually I also liked the atmosphere of the limited spectators who even got their seats. It was a mix of past contests when it was not so much like mass event show, on the other hand the spectators were still giving a lot of support and enthusiasm. Certainly less people can attend and enjoy live but for me personally, I liked it that way.
@@occono3543 actually a lot of people find him hilarious, there are even compilations of his funniest Eurovision moments that people have made, personally for me he’s the perfect host for it, especially when we aren’t doing too well his dry and sarcastic remarks never fail to make me laugh :) (that’s just my opinion though, feel free to have your own, but quite a lot of people def do find him amusing)
