    We stayed there in January. We had an issue with flies for most of the week. We also had diamond club. We agree it is the best beach ever. Everybody at the pool did comment about no handrail. All in all we enjoyed ourselves

      @beachgor we were wondering if the flies are worse certain times of year. We definitely enjoyed ourselves as well and that beach..

    One of the nicest beach in Cuba, you can walk forever to the left of the resort. Our room had a musty smell also, ground floor..... thanks for your honest opinions.

    about to go in a few weeks, super excited, hoping the wifi is alright, Im slightly concerned about the crazy amounts of flies ive heard about and I think it may be weather specific, what were the approx temperatures the week you went? did u have any issues with seeing flies on the food? Also should I be bringing my own loaf of bread at this point lol?

    • @beachbumbling
      @beachbumbling  6 месяцев назад

      @slavicballerina wifi is decent in the lobby but might not be so good at the room depending on where your room's located. Temps were 29-30 but with a little breeze off the water. We were there during Easter and the flies were there but not crazy like we had heard it may be. Bread was not plentiful there but we did see it everyday. In the main buffet for breakfast they have one of those rotating toasters but I never saw any bread to put in it. At the diamond club they gave you two small pieces of toast. The shortages come and go so our experience might not necessarily be what you see when you're there. The bigger problem for bugs will be the no-seeums and the mosquitoes at dusk. Thanks for watching the video. Cheers!

    Our diamond club was “free” in the package we had. Was there in October and spent our whole days at the beach, wonderful beach! Some of the smokers at the beach used the beach as their ashtray, though, which was disgusting. You can’t rake those butts out.

      Free is always awesome! That is a wonderful beach! Unfortunately we noticed the same thing about the butts. Karen just puts the butts back in her pack until we find a garbage. Thanks for watching!

    We were there 3 weeks ago and no eggs or bread unless you were Diamond Club, which we weren't.

    • @beachbumbling
      @beachbumbling  7 месяцев назад +1

      @gerogedodwell1721 we had read about the shortages before we booked and that sometimes the diamond club had eggs and the rest of the resort didn't. That was one of the main reasons we upgraded. They got more eggs the day before we arrived luckily as the diamond club didn't have any either at the time. Thanks for watching.

      Because it requires so much more fuel, staff and services to route through Montreal or Toronto. The airlines have to recover their costs or they’ll go out of business.

    I'm surprised you didn't cover the biting insects. Mosquitoes and especially those brutal "jejenes" the biting midges. There is that huge lake and the massive lagoon next door that is a breeding grounds for them all. They must be awful there. Please comment.

      @@beachbumbling Yes I saw pt. 2 after I commented. I break out in those blisters that burst and run down my arms or legs. So the bottom line is that those noseeum's are bad . Right ?

    • @beachbumbling
      @beachbumbling  Месяц назад +1

      @jjburns8762 down at the beach at dusk and dawn they are for sure. Karen had the same issue as you in Panama a couple years ago. She's allergic to them. We really didn't notice them much here though. Karen was militant about us applying the Natrapel and it paid off. We did see some legs that were less fortunate during the week though.

    • @beachbumbling
      @beachbumbling  Месяц назад

      @@MR-gp9ys our understanding is that it is illegal to bring vapes into Cuba. Our friend had his confiscated at the airport. They put it in a locker and he got it back on the way home. Thanks for watching!

      @@beachbumbling Thank you.. My wife and i were planning on going to Cuba in a few weeks to Cayo Coco. Ive heard many bad things about Cuba.. Would you say it's worth the money?

    • @beachbumbling
      @beachbumbling  Месяц назад

      @@MR-gp9ys thats a tricky question. It really depends on where you go, and how much you pay for your trip. We can say for what we paid, we felt it was a good value and we had a incredible time there. Time of year really influences the price.The main attraction are the beaches in Cuba and we are beach lovers. Food is not a primary reason to go to Cuba as they have shortages from time to time and at times the food can be limited in variety. For example, the week before we arrived, the hotel had ran out of eggs for several days. Other places ran out of beer, bread, vodka and other things. We have been fortunate that we have not experienced shortages like some our friends have. We packed many snacks in case we ran into issues but gave most of them away as we didn't need them. You can get some great deals if you keep an eye out for them. Hope that helps.

      @MR-gp9ys Месяц назад +1

      @@beachbumbling My wife and i were planning a trip in 2 weeks to Cayo Coco. Grand Aston Paredon. I'm scared i keep hearing of food shortages. What are your thoughts. Also if there's a food shortage. Is there also an alcohol shortage? You 2 seems like the right couple to ask.

    • @beachbumbling
      @beachbumbling  Месяц назад

      @MR-gp9ys the thing about shortages is they're very hard to predict what's going to be missing and when. We each packed a bottle of vodka and brought some Cesar mix packets that we got from Canadian Tire that you mix with water. That way we knew at the very least we'd have a drink that we liked. Fortunately we didn't have any real shortages to speak of the week we were there. However the week before did. Our advice is if there are things that you definitely want to have, bring them with you. We brought a bunch of beef jerky, peanut butter, ketchup mustard any condiment that you might want, we even brought garlic plus. The best thing about that is if you don't use any of it your maid or the bartenders or anyone that works there would love to have it. So since we didn't have shortages the week we were there we left everything behind and gave it away. If your resort runs out of booze take the bus to the market and they had beer and some liquor for sale there. You're going to have to pay for it but it's better than going without. Hope that helps and that you have a great time. We would love to know how it works out for you and how you like the property. Any other questions just let us know. Thanks for watching!
