word of advice when integrating puppets build forts it doesn't take long and will help you annex them.
The reason why it's hard for Manchukuo is because some people go too fast or they skip things that we overlook
I second this, I just got stomped by Japan again because I wanted to fight them as soon as I could plus I overlooked the buffs that Military high command can give you.
When I tried doing this I had the opposite problem and started independence war way too late lol
I thought to have any chance of success I had to rush it so I could get the assistance of the Chinese United Front

7:08 Factory output does not, in fact, increase your civilian factory construction speed. It exclusively makes your military factories work better. Construction speed is its own thing, despite how confusing it may sound.

Wow, I've been watching your Achievments guides videos for a week now and you've made me want to play HoI4 (which had put me off, I'm a big EU4 and CK player), especially with your guide to restoring imperial China. I just watched your entire beginner's guide and searched in the search bar for "Bitt3rsteel Qing hOI4" and I see that there are two videos, one of which was released 40 minutes ago! That's a sign!

@@Bitt3rSteel I did it ! I get the achievment. After my fifth run with Manchukuo (I played 40 hours in less than a week lol) I finally managed to reclaim the Mandate of Heaven . On my first run, I followed all the instructions in the video very closely. By my fifth run, I really knew how to play and I, for example, preferred to annex the other Chinese countries militarily because I didn't want to spend too much time annexing them diplomatically.
Thanks to you I learned to manage armies, production, trade, technologies, constructions, doctrines. I really only need to improve on division design, navy and a few other things.
Finally, regarding the nation played, I loved the idea of making the little deserted and puppet Manchukuo an industrial power and reconquering China in less than ten years. My only regret is not being able to abandon fascism and switch to the non-aligned party since it is also led by Puyi (but not by Xuantong when the Empire is restored)

Suggestion: Sinkiang unifies China AND all the turkic nations (Turkestan).
Theoretically it is possible for it to do both but I have yet to see it do that.
Perhaps you should start by unifying Turkestan then China as that is harder

Ikr! I know that micro at the end of the day is king but a field marshal general offensive can put down A LOT of wide spread pressure and even net a few encirclements against the AI. Firing off a few complementary plans for concentric encirclements can absolutely decimated the AI with the planning bonus.
The only time GBP has ever bit me in the butt on an AI game is when my Allies/puppets are already pushing a general offensive.

Bittersteel, I just wanted to say thank you for all your various HOI4 videos! I've never been a huge fan of the HOI series, but you've gotten me into it. I've been playing Manchukuo for about 2-3 days now on Ironman, trying to pull off this strategy. I've dropped SO many games in frustration, but my present game is starting to pan out. I've learned so much just from watching you play.

Great guide! I already got the achievement in NSB, only major differences i noticed was i went with proper heritage for the spirit of the army for the cavalry and supply bonuses and five equal peoples focus instead of the other one to switch to war economy before the war and also combat bonuses on core territory.

You can retake entire China by 1939 which gives you 2 years to prepare for Japan.
1. - First you should research Gun 2, do not screw with the gun production you already have, make a second production line of the same gun 1, you will switch this to gun 2, your original gun 1 will keep producing because it already has maximum efficiency, if bandits destroy your military factory, you must restart or save load. (You can copy the ironman save in your save folder after it autosaves and name it the date it autosaved to, and then if you want to reload that save, copy your ironman save and rename it back to "ironman manchuria" or whatever, keep your other copy)
Also, you must save 35 military XP start of the game, delete your entire army, and train one division constantly until you get 4 imperial guards, start building army, you want to use 35 XP to get high command bonus "State serves the military" for extra political power boost, its very important you get it or else you must restart.
2. - Start rushing towards Bolster Nationalism focus day one, you must not hunt or pacify the bandits, this is 9 free level 2 cavalry divisions you get for free and will be used for Korea supported by two or four good divisions later. After you done Bolster Nationalism, you should rush focus to get 4 military factories ASAP, you must keep production high.
Remember to save your command points, only get military advisor for 0.30 military XP a day, nothing else, you need CP to take raid Japanese supplies, preferably you want 3 times to raid, this gives you free 10k guns, 500 artillery, if you do 4 or 5 times you get 150 planes and 15k infantry equipment + some bad light tanks that are useless but you waste time waiting for 4 or 5 times.
3. - After you research gun 2 you must make sure to research industry, ignore construction tech its useless to you in beginning, you must increase production and make sure to get dispersed industry and efficiency tech (concentrated is bad, its really bad, only concentrated tech 5 is beneficial but unless you plan to produce a single type of equipment for the entire game, never get it)
4. - When you get 4 x 7/2 imperial guards infantry, you must not change the template, leave this template alone, duplicate it if you want to make your other infantry into this, these 4 infantry divisions are level 5 veterans! They are super powerful and you should not waste them like an idiot!
For military tech you should get grand battleplan, do not waste on superior firepower, also do not use it on mass assault even if mass assault is best in the game, its only good when fully achieved, grand battleplan has day one reduction of supply use for military high command, take it! Its important.
5. - After you do this, you only need to take improve worker conditions once, I suggest you must at least have 10 - 15 infantry 20 width or larger on front of Japanese-China, send elite guards to take Arthur port, then send your cavalry to Korea, your Guards should be sent to Korea afterwards, ideally you also have some pure 10 width infantry to put on ports, this way you do not waste too much equipment, Japan never have enough strength in 1938 or early 1939 to naval invade with a big force, when you take Korea, you must rush Korea fast! Force attack if necessarily, you must rush the port, Japan will pour divisions into Korea and destroy you. When you start the war, you must join Chinese faction to be part of white peace, sometimes the white peace bug out and Japan retain land in China and Korea, this is bug, restart or use Xit engine to fix it because Paradox are lazy and this bug existed for 3 years now. Japan is suppose to give you Menguko and China gets Japanese-China, you get Arthur and Korea becomes independent. If you do not join faction, Japan will not white peace you, and this will make war with China much harder.
6. - While you also focus on Korea, you must focus on Japanese-China, here you must make sure to take their only two ports, and also make sure to take Mengukuo capital ASAP and also destroy their supply hubs near Beijing, this will allow Japanese China to collapse right away.
If you do all of this very quickly, I suggest not to wait later than mid 1938 because Japan gets extremely strong very quickly for tiny Chinese nation like you, do not bother naval invade Japan, I tried it many times even with 14/4's, you will be destroyed, even if you launch successful naval invasion before declaring war and you land 12 divisions, its not enough, you lack supply and Japanese divisions are too strong.
After you kick Japan out of China and Korea and Chinese faction which you are in, white peace, you should now do friendship with Britain focus and friendship with america, to get good bonuses, then, only after you do both friendship focuses, you can go assimilate warlords and get cores on Chinese territory, if you do cores first, Britain focus will be locked, impossible to get 100 diplomatic score with them because you claim Hong Kong, do not do until after!
After you puppet most of Chinese warlords, you should start preparing for war with China right away already in 1939 and declare ASAP, China is weak but if you give time, they will become stronger.
When you beat China which is usually very quick because they have too many fronts to cover, you should start to prepare for war with Japan, this is easy, spam out many good divisions with artillery, plan naval invasion on Japan, use naval invasion exploit to get as many divisions as possible and prepare wargoal on Japan, after you declare, do one speed and send naval invasion, when time goes by 1 hour, you deselect entire naval invasion, delete their orders, then select other squad of 10 or 20 depending on your technology, to send to the next invasion order, watch one hour go by and repeat this, you want like 60 or 80 divisions to invade Japan, Japanese fleet will take long time to intercept you, you want to do this, before Japan enters any other wars before 1941.
Some of your troops will be killed, this is price to pay but thankfully, Qing China have many manpowers and you worry not about losses but you worry that you can micro 80 divisions landing in Japan fast, because you must destroy Japan quickly, alternative you can invade Korea if they are independent, make airbase and use paratroopers to land in Japan, but this method means you spend more IC on planes and paratroopers must be good to not get killed, alternative you can do both if you have time.
Planning time resets to zero when you reassign units to naval invasion.
I've been trying to hunt this achievement for weeks now and no other guides have helped me XD So let's hope this one works, love your content by the way

*Edit: I wrote all this based on my tendency to try and rush down Japan quicker than Bitt3rSteel does, before the Japan/Soviet border war*
Things I'd add despite being far from a "pro" player, just because I really like the Qing China path and have played it multiple times since NSB:
-You could just restart if you get bad RNG on your first (and ideally only) bandit raid since it's not even a year into the game and there is around a 50/50 chance of getting a raid that doesn't really harm you
-One of the first things you should do is drill your army up to 25XP and get Professional Officer Corps to start accruing Command Power for the Japanese Arms Depots decisions. If you take it early enough you can have exactly enough to promote Xiqia into a Field Marshal and max out the Arms Depot plan, which gives you a huge temporary bonus and a bunch of equipment you can pop any time you need to. Your Command Power generation is abysmal at the start so shoring it up really helps. Changing to State Serves The Military after you've improved War Support would be fine, but I find you get all the Political Power you need for the factory decision without it.
-If you go down the path of quashing the bandits by stationing your army, you could have enough units that Five Equal Peoples becomes viable if you throw Support Artillery and an Artillery Battalion on the Qu Jun template and crank out a few of them/convert a few units into them. But beware getting the Grigori advisor if it would push you below 50% Stability if you do this
-Rushing Assertiveness and down to Purge the General Affairs Council is also perfectly fine, since I think the Japanese become motivated to give you more equipment the more autonomous you are, which won't matter at all when you declare war via focus
-German support isn't really that worth it to devote Focus time you could be spending on the British/American Air stuff, especially since you eventually lose von Falkenhausen as an Advisor despite keeping him as a General. British/American air focuses are all around more worth it in my opinion, especially since if you do them both you get a pretty decent airforce.
-It's shocking how little research you need to beat the Japanese and Warlords. Going full Industry focuses and getting the other bonuses from American, British, Soviet and German support while ignoring the research focuses is totally doable, especially with the free airforces you get from the British, American and Arms Depots focuses
-If all you're going for is the achievements, you could honestly just push to defensible terrain in China after taking Port Arthur and Korea and let Nationalist China bleed themselves dealing with Japan in the south. It can have the added benefit of having Communist China turn on the Nationalists during the war and subsequently get stomped by the United Front so you don't need to worry about the Communists joining the Comintern later
How are you supposed to get the focus tree unlocks of the USA or Britain when they're blocked to any fascist governments? The only options I see are Germany and Japan, and Germany gives you a free civ and 2 mils.
@@Anonie324 They aren't blocked to Fascist governments, they're blocked for Manchukuo at the start due to low relations. Increase relations with Britain and America one at a time to get those focuses done.

I know I'm a bit late but I loved the video, thanks Bitt3rSteel. I managed to get the achievement by following your guide up until your peace deal with Japan. I took out china first, then after Japan puppeted China, took them out again (the peace deal can fire as many times as you kick the Japanese out of china), and with that, I was able to get it. While waiting to integrate my puppets, I also joined the allies in the fight to end Japan and Germany, it was a good time.

Not sure if it has been patched, but I used to use a specific tactic to immediately take out Menguko when they join the war against me. Just park some divisions in their country (area defense doesn't work, I learned that the hard way) and leave them in their country after declaring independence. When they join the war they will instantly capitulate. Then mop up the Japanese divisions, invade Korea and Dailan and the war is over.
Yeah, but its lame, do it without that exploit. Yet yes its still possible i’m pretty sure.
You can bum rush the capital with a few cav, it's wide open more often than not and is all you need to knock them out, no need to cheese it

Tried this out last night and it was surprisingly easy! Great work on this guide. Rushing those supply hubs in China makes Japan collapse extremely fast.

Hearing the genuine exasperation in your voice whenever you talk about supply is a perfect metaphor for how it feels to play NSB, it's a good feature but man does it make you want to gouge out your eyes eyes sometimes

The Gibraltar to Singapore one would just be a world conquest. Go Fascist as Britain, ally Italy and conquer France, Spain, the balkans, Turkey, the Middle East, Afghanistan and Siam and then just build a railroad from Gibraltar to Singapore.

you can get Not Much Fun In Stalingrad by just giving the territory your troops are marching through on the soviet union to an ally, like italy if you're germany, give them the states before stalingrad and march your troops through it.

@@Bitt3rSteel That would actually be godly, because I keep attempting historical Germany campaigns now that I feel like I understand the game's main mechanics, and it goes very well until it just doesn't. Usually right around the time the Allies start getting really strong and Italy starts getting really incompetent.

Hello, I am from Russia and I Think u are wery cool boy, I love your guides and with your help I get many achivement😍
I almost managed to do it but I didn't have any way of getting to the Japanese mainland which I knew was basically unprotected so I joined the allies funnily enough, and just stopped playing since I didn't know if I should declare war on Chinese united front because I was scared I would get kicked from allies.

Have you done the achievement that requires reforming the Central Powers with Imperial Germany and Austria-Hungary as Turkey (meaning the other two need to be formed by the AI)?

ive been finish this achievment by looking for japan to turn comunist, and by far that was easiest method for manchukuo
26:30 I would pull back a few of those 21 widht divisions... Not that the supply would be any better (there still was no supply hub), but having them all piled up like that isn't helping.

One of the first times I played Hoi4 I tried to make the Qing Empire but of course, Japan declared on the Soviets before I could break free. ( I didn’t know how to build or train divisions I didn’t know how to build guns AND I DIDNT KNOW HOW TO GROUP TROOPS!!! )
I got some weird glitch where China was still at war with Japan even after the scripted peace deal and it came down to the peace deal after I capitulated china. Second time I lost an achievement to the peace deal 😭
Can you please do an updated guide on Germany? I don’t know how to defeat the Allies as Germany .
been trying this in BBA and all 3 of my runs have resulted in japan peacing out with china but staying at war with me, making expansion into china nearly impossible because of the unending naval invasions in the eastern front. why?
Ok I know this will be pain but I would like to see a update to 30 minutes of hell since the supply tank and focus tree have changed I want to know if there is a better or easier way to get the achievement
