I would not recommend rushing it were it not for the reason of tuition fees. The songs were equivalent to grade 6 old schemes, simple musics played on an excellent rating.
The easiest combination of repertoire is set for the Grade 8 Exam. Tempo adopted for Scarlatti is really slow as the tempo marking is "Allegro", not "Moderato". A generally fast feeling is more desirable. Moreover, obvious dynamic contrast is required. Beethoven : a more expressive playing overall. However, good use of pedal is needed to freely reveal the genuine lyrical quality of the pieces. Danny Boy : A more general fluency is expected for this rather easy choice. The depth of the music lies on its natural flow and groove.
