I play on my hikes. just doing simple cross harp stuff, the act of walking puts you in a new space it feels. I turn it into a work song type thing. Going up a switchback with the breathing restriction is a wonderful workout. Quick puff in the car, feeling like a million bucks and out of breath in 15 minutes. super inspirational, I hope to have 10% that level of mojo one day.
He plays about nine instruments nice guy haven't seen him in years he dated one of my friends I grew up with she passed away some years ago she wrote some songs with him on his earlier albums wow what a beautiful person she was I'm getting back into practicing the harmonica take care will be in touch
Thanks Howard. When I was a student, teachers told me not to tap my feet, I never questioned it. Then I became more experienced , and thought it was nothing big deal to do it. And now you ENCOURAGE beginners to do it, you opened up my eyes again!
Hard to snap 2 and 4 when you are playing 1 & 3. This is going to take some practice on my part. Thanks, I’ll work on it and come back to see what is next.
This is great, i'm finding it really challenging to just isolate the 2 & 4, so used to dropping it on the one! Fever's an excellent song to try this with. Great lesson, cheers
Thanks for the sheet music, a great lesson as always! do you follow the convention of treating the harmonica as a transposing instrument in the first position key, or like a piano where c=c?
Hi Howard how are you I met you some years ago on Broadway by Columbia University also I think I met you in the elevator in the building where I live on 106th Street and Amsterdam avenue in the elevator I had crutches and glasses you told me you played the harmonica you were much younger that was in the 80s early 90s I think your relative lived in the same building where I live I live in a senior citizen building for seniors and disabled people I told you I had met Stevie Wonder I also met toots one of my good friends plays jazz chromatic harmonica you might know him his name is WILLIAM GALISON I hope I spelled it right he is the protege of toots
The playing is beautiful and just what I wanted to know about keeping time with my feet.

I think another way to keep time is shaking the whole body like Big Walter Horton or Dennis gruenling!
I come From Igor Kasuya!!🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Il y a une erreur!! pour jouer en E en 2e position, il faut un harmo en A,et non en E comme c'est écrit ???
C'est écrit dessus : A Harp - harmonica en La - in E second position - en Mi deuxième position.
