I think, instead of using petals in mine, I would make a small block of pink/red colored massage bar and freeze then grate it. No random chunks of stuff to pick off your skin while using the lotion bar. Lush cosmetics reviews are great for figuring out what people love or hate about certain types of handmade products.
It's good to see you looking happier today. I have been browsing through various site listings for heart moulds to use specifically for lotion bars that fit into the hand but aren't too deep a bar and your video just popped up on my videos listing. Not only is it an ideal tutorial for making lotion bars (which I needed for a first attempt at lotion bars) but the heart mould is a perfect depth and size and bar quantity. I had intended to make an introductory purchase with your company anyway, so I will add this mould to the top of that purchase list. The heart lotion bars turned out beautifully.
Omg I love the rose petals on them 😍 I’m going to add that as soon as I find a perfect ratio for a bar with less ingredients and just using beeswax, cacao and shea butters. 🌹 thanks again
Joan Belmont Slightly..I wouldn’t say greasy, but very moisturizing and hydrating. Make a tiny test batch and see how you like it. I absolutely love these for the winter months. 😃
another amazing video from the lovely soap queen! I always look forward to new videos. content is so well put together and the BrambleBerry materials compliment projects so well.
Just tried this recipe but I add vegan Candillia Wax, for the lotion bars.Looks beautiful and smells so good but there a slight feel of wax. These lotion bars were going to be gifts 🎁 for family members and friend, but now only for me.
Shea butter does not harden like cocoa butter so I don't think you can replace cocoa butter with shea butter but you can definitely keep the cocoa butter in the recipe and add in a little bit of shea butter.
Why not...I make these with a combo of Cocoa, Shea and Mango butter. Same amount of ounces, just split up. The "wax" is what keeps them hard. Do a test, here is a couple of tips...you can put a spoon in the freezer, dip it in the melted mixture and it will harden. Rub it on your skin...you can test the hardness and or feel of the bar that way. Next tip...if it happened to be too greasy for your liking, you can add a "small" amount of corn starch (maybe a 1/2 tsp to start) to the mix, it helps tone down any greasy feel. Repeat the spoon test till ya get it to your liking. It's all personal preference. Remember when using Shea butter, it can get "grainy" if it gets too hot so definitely let the hot oils melt is "very slowly". I do mine over a double boiler and add the Shea last after everything else has melted. Take the melted mixture off the stove for a couple of minutes and then add your Shea butter. Works like a dream! Also remember the temp when adding your FO, if its too hot, it will burn off. It should tell the flash point on each individual FO bottle or you can go to the website and look it up. This is a super easy and awesome recipe on its own! Ann Marie makes such amazing products!! Have fun with it...hope this might have helped ya a lil bit. ((Hugs))
Would it be possible to put in Dr Bronners Castile liquid soap and less almond oil and have these bars lather up and be more like an in shower moisturizing soap bar?
No, mixing in a premade soap into lotion bars would not work. If you're wanting a more moisturizing soap bar, we recommend making soap with shea butter or another butter we offer. You can find our butters here: www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-product/ingredients/butters

What would be a good scrub particles to add to this. Also what other scents go with the cocoa butter smell? Thank you. They look beautiful I’m excited to make these in a body scrub version.
Ive used ground almonds as an exfoliant in these and liked the feel, but it can be a little messy if you dont use them in the shower. Any chocolate scents, mint, cinnamon, vanilla, or bakery scents go well with cocoa butter!
The cocoa butter wafers start melting around 90° F, but you can always add more beeswax to help raise the melting point to keep them solid longer in a hot climate.

Thanks for fun and easy tutorial. I'm going to make using the brambleberry white rose fo and give as gifts. Should these be stored in tins?
Tins would be a great packaging option for these! White Rose Fragrance Oil will be a lovely fragrance for these bars.
