the way I personally see it, Yuki's death led to a ''washing away'' of choso's sins, especially the ones regarding to his brother's fates. Choso and Yuji have a very good big brother/younger brother dynamic, but I see him letting Yuji absord their brothers as this: he didn't want to curse them to an existence that might have been painful and horrifying for them. Kenjaku got the cursed wombs through curse inbreeding with humans and then forces ''remova'' (im not trying to get homie in trouble) so logic probably dictates that the first attempts would all come out more deformed and corrupted than him and the 2 brothers he had already lost. Just a theory tho I really like him sacrificing himself for yuji like that, because sacrifice is the most human thing to do, and it really puts into perspective the ''live as a human'' theme of his character going forward. That's an interesting take & one that I never thought about. Your theory i can honestly see that's what Gege was going for. The way I took Yuki's death & Choso moving forward is pretty much what we got from her & Choso's conversation. Choso took the easy path of a curse because he didn't think his two brothers could handle being "humans" the way they are. With Choso dying as a curse, I took it as he (if he survived/ have Yuji lead them) would lead there siblings to live as "humans" after the conflict with Sukuna. I completely agree 🤝 Gege certainly nailed the theme of Choso becoming human & eldest sibling. Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words & support 👍
Even though I like Choso as a character, Gege unfortunately did do him dirty & is unfortunately ruined.

I can see where your coming from but I think it's just desperation on chosos part for typing to help Yuji win.
