A lot of people despise donning a pair of alpine boots. I have grown to appreciate the ritual; which includes inspection of the gear, proper donning, taking controlled & deliberate time to see if anything else is wrong/missing with the ski kit, watching/talking with the others in the lodge, and generally just enjoying the avant le ski morning.
Good observation! Yeah some boots will have little tweaks like this for their buckles also. This one in particular has 3 different placements for the instep buckle. Its pretty easy to move on to the mounting points and its best done by feel. Try all 3 points and give it some good tension. You should feel which is the best placement for pressure over the top of the foot! :)
On the top two buckles the farthest mount does not have a hole for the inner tooth that seats the ladder, do you drill a hole or let it rest on top of the shell?
This was super helpful!!!! Thank you. I am shopping for my husbands ski boot. He has huge calves and smaller feet. I have a better idea what to look for now. Do all ski boots have this 3 hole adjustment???? If so only salamon?
