    Thank you for posting this video. Have you had any issues now that you've had it for a year? I'm looking at buying one for Automotive Diag and concerned about connection issues or losing connection all the time. Also, how far away have you been from the Flir while viewing the ipad? I'm wondering if this would work on a tripod outside the car while I am in the driver seat. Thanks again!

      It's still working fine. If I remember, it'll work at least 5 or so feet anyway. I could see a few applications for a car, but thing a heat gun could be more precise locating the source.

    Thanks for the review. I'm debating between this One edge Pro and Flir C5. Both have similar specs, But the C5 is a complete independent device and you don't need the phone. It would be nice to know the real battery life for such a small unit.

      I've used the Edge at 20*F for over an hour and still had 2 bars out of 3 showing. book says 2-3 hours. I'm still learning the differences between different outside temp effects and window loss.

      Também estou com está dúvida. Queria também adaptar para usar em drone.

    Harv, does the unit have a tacky coating that smells strongly of rubber?

    • @harvsstuff339
      @harvsstuff339  Год назад

      Outside is a softer material. I would not call it rubber more like a softer polymer. No smell at all

      @@harvsstuff339 Thank you. I unboxed a 'brand new' unit that has a very off putting smell so I'm wondering whether I got a dodgy or refurbed example.

    Great video. Is there no red dot beaming out on to the surface of what you want to measure exact temperature?

    • @harvsstuff339
      @harvsstuff339  Год назад

      No beam on the Flir. Only the heat guns do that as far as I know. So the Flir is safe if you pass it across people on the "Polar Bear Swims" LOL

    Where would you recommend buying one of these? And I subscribed to your channel just because you did such a good job on this.

      I bought directly from FLIR. Didn't wanna deal with a middle vendor. Thank you for subscribing.

    Does it work well go find moisture or a water leak inside the wall ? Thanks

    • @harvsstuff339
      @harvsstuff339  Год назад +1

      Really can't answer that. I do not have any piping in walls. But it would certainly show a cool spot I would think. Sorry I can't answer better.

      I have the FLIR ONE Pro, and it works very well for finding moisture/water leaks inside of the wall. Areas that are wet are much cooler than the surrounding dry areas.

    Thanks for the video Harv. Have you had any connection issues? I saw that it disconnected once during the video. Do you recommend the product? Thanks

    • @harvsstuff339
      @harvsstuff339  Год назад +2

      Bruce no issues with connection, once I've used it a few more times. But if I switch to the photo to review I do need to reconnect. It takes less than a minute to reconnect. I do like to use it on a tripod with my mini pad so I can move the 3 sensors where I'd like them just seems easier. But if I'm patient I can do it on the phone with flir connected to phone. I will tell you I was concerned about the insulation settling in the non studded walls. I don't see any problems. So to me it was worth every penny.

    Why did'nt ya buy a temp gun Harv? They work good. That flir looks complicated.

    • @harvsstuff339
      @harvsstuff339  Год назад +3

      I have a temp gun. This shows where I need to focus. Actually it's pretty easy to use. Trying to guess where and if I had some insulation issues. Walls are 10" thick and open. We've had some settling before so wanted to know what we currently have. Just have a few spots I'll look at closer.

    These are complete garbage. Just get the handheld Flir. It always works. These have constant connection and laggy video issues.
