Had short hair all my childhood - never experimented so never learnt how to "put my hair up" so as an adult I've always relied on brushing and hairbands - I tried this bun yesterday by cutting off the leg part of a freshly washed odd thin black sock. It took me 3 minutes to do and was amazing!! have emailed it to my sister and she's going to do it too!! so happy many thanks - might even use it for my wedding next year :D XXXX
For people that don't have the exact donut thing she's using, look up "the sock bun". You can use it to make a bun for day wear, or wear it in while you sleep so your hair is nice and curly in the morning.
Anyway, lovely video! If my hair was long like yours I'd wear it that way too, looks lovely!

Dance competition convention next week and this saved my life! I hardly ever mess around with my hair but a low ponytail probably wouldn’t work for dancing all day, so this came in handy!!😁

I think its more easy with short hair..u won't find hard time to tuk ur hair al around the bun.
I do this bun for Sea Cadets and put a hairnets over the top (we have to).I literally live this hairstyle and it looks very smart and tidy underneath my beret and hat.

I find it always a bit hard to push the hair underneeth (after covering this donut shape with hair) .. does anyone have any tips?
i always pull a hair rubber band around it once and then turn all my left hair around the bun so you cannot see the rubber band anymore. (sorry for bad english i cannot come up with words when i'm tired)
I agree. Once you have your ponytail fanned out over the donut, put a hairtie over it to secure it in place. Then pull the remainder of your to right (or left, it doesn't matter) and wrap it around and underneath the bun, pinning it in place. The best pins to use for this are spin pins.
An Gie I usually just start from the top and roll inwards underneath, tucking all the hair in then hairband and bobby pins
Instead of tucking u can use a rubber band
After i fan out the hair i put a pony tail over it to hold it into place then hide the hair

Search a tutorial on RUclips all you need is a sock and scissors (the socks need to be your hair colour)
u have to use a long sock and cut the two end of the sock then just roll it up and it will look like a donut

I have been trying to recreate this since ages..
Only problem is that I have long hair.. Like mid waist length. So when I have to tuck my hair underneath the bun, it is never as neat as yours.
It works for casual outings, but I wanna wear it like this in my office and I'd love to have some inputs about it!
