I love a light weight throw during spring and summer. I love this idea!
Love this.
I just purchased 9 yards of toweling for placemats, tea towels, and cafe curtains. YAY!!!
That's really neat, Misty! Another thing that would be cool with the wide toweling is a table cloth!
These would be great towels to throw down on the sand for beach trips. Then you can use terry-cloth towels to dry off.
Taking a really long flight this fall and I was thinking this would make a great shawl to use as a blanket during the flight. And it would still be cute enough to wear for added warmth. Thanks for the video!
Very interesting! I never thought of using toweling for a throw! Love the way you made the tassels! Way back when…I was in 8th grade Home Ec., we learned to find the straight grain of the fabric or evened up ends by pulling the threads. That gave us a cutting line. Making the tassels would have been so much more fun! Thanks, Misty!
That's exactly what I learned in school, too. Greetings from Germany ❤️
This is such a cool, informative video about how to prepare (straighten) the edges of your fabric for all kinds of projects! It takes a little time and keep in mind that you may have to purchase extra yardage, so don't blame your fabric store if you are short a few inches. Investigate and deal with your ruler and the weave of your fabric. Do your homework. My kids had to, so do you!
The fraying works a bit better if you zigzag where you want it to stop, before you start picking. I also started by taking a small snip to start the weft to fray. 😊
Thanks for showing us these projects. What great ideas! Thanks also for showing us how to make those tassels, so cool.
Love this, Misty! The throw would be perfect for both my trailer and my car….maybe make one in both the grey and the red! A perfect project to work in while camping. Time to use my MSQC Birthday Coupon!
Thank you, and stay well.

Love that you have this in a wider width! Thank you for showing the tied fringe tutorial. I see something wearable using the wide toweling.
I use these for my bathroom towels. Also, 60" ticking for bath towels. They dry easily and look nice longer than terry towels.
Beautiful, thank you for sharing 😊❤
Thank you; I didn't know toweling was a thing!
Hi Misty! It looks really relaxing to make those tassels!
That would make a really cute table cloth. A red plaid would make a cute picnic throw to lay down and spread your picnic out on!
Great ideas and Demo, Misty! I would take the threads you took out, cut them into shorter lengths, and put them out for the birds to build nests with, or sandwich them between two layers of water soluble stabilizer, do FMQ in a grid style to make a scarf. Just a thought!
I’m going to give throws to everyone on my Christmas list!
Muchas gracias muy hermoso bendiciones Costa Rica
Great idea. Toweling- who knew???
Thank you Misty! Such a fun project!
That’s really neat
cool!
Wow!! How cool! Love these ideas and can’t wait to see what colors you carry so I can turn them into Christmas gifts!!
Great project!
So great, thanks misty!
You are a special sweet person. Thanks for all your tutorials. I've learned so much from you.
Great idea!!❤🎉
Fun project😊
I love this idea! so easy!
Thanks for sharing 😊
Thanks Misty! You always have such great ideas, it’s inspiring 😊
How cool! Many thanks!
Thank you Misty.
Very cool!
Love it!❤
I can't find the 60" wide online; hope you will get more soon!
I think what we call ‘towelling’ here in Australia is a different fabric. It is the fabric like bath sheets are made from.
I live in Canada and I’m with you. 👍🏼
And in America we call that terrycloth, like a towel. Confusing!
Yes, here in UK, towelling is a fabric made up of tiny loops - Many years ago I used 'Terry towelling nappies/diapers'...so I have heard of Terry Towelling. Love the look of the fabric Misty is using but would want to put those tassels through the washing machine.😊
In South Africa our towelling has tiny loops as well.
@@denisedehart-vanlaan544 here in Germany we call terry cloth frottee. I'm not sure what kind of fabric this toweling means, maybe something like a tea towel?????
Great!!
Always love your videos Misty. 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
The overhead camera 🎥 is never close enough.
You can use your fingers to enlarge the frame if you want a closer view😊
Just wondering what happens with the tassels and the shrinkage the first time they go through the washing and drying process.
Cool
❤❤❤❤, muy lindo❤❤❤❤
Oh! I am wondering if the 60 wide would make a good backing for a beach quilt? I have two quilt tops with a beach theme, and have been looking for a “different” fabric for the back.
I think that’s a fantastic idea!
Maybe I’m overlooking it but I don’t see the 60” wide toweling on your website. Only 18. 🤔
The agent on the chat kept giving me the link to the 18" size. I couldn't seem to get her to understand that Misty is featuring it and says they have it. I suggested she watch the tutorial to see what I was talking about. Maybe she will.
Love the throw! How long were the fringe ends before you began knotting?
I dont see any on the website of wider toweling. All i see are 16 and 18”.
Misty what size was the piece of material for the throw? If you said it and i missed it, i apologize
Was looking ahead in the season say perhaps fall or Christmas, am I missing a full color selection somewhere? Was looking on sites provided, but don't see other colors????? Any help?
Can you wash it without the ties unraveling?
The link to the 60 inch toweling takes you to the 16 & 18 inch width, and the toweling fabric section on the website shows no 60 inch options. I contacted a live agent through the chat, and she just kept giving me the 18 inch link. I think there is an error on the website.
These are cool fabrics. I want the wider width but I don't see this offered on your MO Star site. Am I just not seeing it? 😊
If you use the link in the video description it takes you to the page where the materials are listed.
Try this link: www.missouriquiltco.com/collections/toweling-fabric
Is this fabric cotton or linen?
It is 100% cotton.
What is the pattern for the wall hanging behind Misty?
Can someone at MSQ please put link here for the 60” fabric?
Many of us are having the issue of not being able to locate it.
Thank you 😊
It is the very first link when you go to the “…more” under the description of the video.
@@bethanykalb1301 that just took me to the 18” fabric….(when I tried it yesterday)
Try this link: www.missouriquiltco.com/collections/toweling-fabric
Where do I find the 60” toweling? It’s not with the 18”.
Try again. The link in the video description points to the wider toweling is working today, April 19.
Try this link: www.missouriquiltco.com/collections/toweling-fabric
I don't see the option to purchase 60" wide toweling from the MSQC site; not even listed as unavailable. Did anyone else find it?
No....several of us have posted the question. 😊
Probably a website glitch as the link from the video description points to it now. I didn’t try a direct search though.
Try this link: www.missouriquiltco.com/collections/toweling-fabric
So I only see 16 in and 18 in, where is the 60 in???
I agree there are only 16" and 18" toweling shown on Missouri Star's website. No 60" wide
I’ve been using towel s like that for my grandkids. They’ve decided to use it for blankets. They love it.
Link has no 60" wide options. Search function was zero help.
Chat function was ZERO help.
Not found under 60" wide cotton fabrics either.
Same experience here. I think there is a website error. I never got the agent to understand.
Please don't throw out the thread you unravel to make tassels or fringe. Cut it up into smaller pieces and put it out for birds to make nests.
Why do you call it toweling? It's not terry cloth.
That is because the manufacturer called it that. Moda is the manufacturer for Janelle Kent’s toweling.
