I have practice to change from E to G faster and faster and now I am pretty good at it! So just keep practicing! Then you will see results soon! And try to change from other chords too!
I've spent a good amount of time on days 1-3, like 12 days! However, I now feel confident to move on to day 4. Really enjoy playing along with you, I feel like I'm jammin', btw I'm a 59yo Grandma!!
For those having difficulty with the G chord, particularly from C (as in this vid), you may notice when he plays the C with his ring finger, his index and middle fingers are constantly hovering over the G position. When switching to the G, you just plonk those fingers down and swing your ring finger up a string. It's all muscle memory at the end of the day, but keeping your fingers curled up in roughly the right position might help. Happy new year.
Andy where have you been all my life... ;-)… But serious… After trying to play the guitar for about ten years… (off and on)… Today I bought a Ukalele… and I found your video's... few hours laters… I'm playing something that sounds like real music!!!!
Haha, exactly the same here! I bought a beautiful guitar when I was 18 and I've always been so frustrated after trying now and then. Now I am 28 and last week I bought this lovely little ukulele and was able to play a melody after just one day. Thank you so much, Andy! ♥ And best wishes from Germany. :)
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to this guy for giving free lessons. Bought my uku yesterday and surprisingly was able to follow through each and every lessons. May God bless you and your good heart always.
Just want the day a huge thank you. From complete beginner a week ago I’ve just written my first song! I can’t play it and sing it at the same time yet and my F to G is painful but I’m seeing the progress!
Andy you are a wonderful teacher. Anytime I've learned an instrument at home with online videos, all the useful information gets lost in technical speak, so thank you so much for your very clear and easy to follow videos! Got my ukulele yesterday and thanks to you I'm already singing riptide and a multitude of other songs to my poor, sore eared husband! Haha! I definitely have a ways to go building calluses but your videos have given me such a boost! ☺️
When I played my ukulele for the first time it worked so emotional that C and D chords sounded really happy and I enjoyed strumming and bringing happiness to people ❤
Andy, you are the best. I got a ukulele for Christmas and I've been using these videos to learn. After just four days, I feel so confident and I am having so much fun learning all of these songs. Thank you for your great teaching!
I had problem on switching to G from the day 1 but in this course my fingers itself goes for it 🌈 practice a little more guys you can definitely make It 🎀💖
Andy, you make it all so clear and easy! Whenever I'm stuck, I pause the video and just practice at my own pace until I'm comfortable. I've dusted off my Ukulele and am really enjoying it for the first time ever. Thank You!!!!!!
I got a ukulele yesterday, and have managed to get this far! Loving your lessons, and playing these tunes! Struggling a little with getting to G though!! Thank you 😍
It will all come together. Perseverance and practice is key, and yes, your fingers should be hurting!! 😆😆 The things that were hard back then are now a breeze, and it will be the same for you when you look back! Good luck 👍
Andy, genuinely a huge thank you. This is making for some fantastic music fun to be learning with my little ones during lock down. This is our music lesson 2 weeks and and the 3 of us are playing riptide. Fantastic guidance 🙏👏
I’m not getting my ukulele for another three days, but here I am lmao. It’ll be the third instrument I’ll learn! I’ve played flute for five years and piano for two, so I’m glad I’m heading into learning the uke with some general musical experience already under my belt, it’ll make everything a bit easier.
finally moving on to this lesson after weeks spent on the last one. feels so good to be able to play a song, and one I actually like as well. can't wait to see what's in store.
I just lost my Dad. I picked up my ukelele for a distraction and checked in for a lesson. You delivered me the ability to play Let it Be in an hour. Thank you!!!

As someone who ha played acoustic guitar for almost 10 years now, ukulele was something new and felt fresh. Idk but it seemed easy if compared to the guitar. Loving this course, i binged it in a day. thanks andy :D
This is amazing. I never thought that I would play ukulele and how fun it is and how quickly I learned how to play it. You're great teacher. Thank you. Totally subscribed.
These lessons are super helpful! I stopped making music for a looooong time but decided I wanted it back. I've only ever been a singer, so I figured I'd start with ukulele b/c it's supposed to be easy to learn. So far so good! I like that I can practice for like 20 minutes a day while the toddler is napping and still make actual progress. It's really helpful to see how many songs you can make with just a handful of chords--I'd like to try my hand at writing my own eventually! Thanks for making these available, Andy!!
I got married last October and honeymooned in Hawaii .. so naturally bought a Ukulele back. With this self isolation I've finally got time to practice and these vids are great Andy :) . Im determaind by the time i go back to work ill be able to link the basic chords and play a song :)
Hi Andy, hubby gifted me a Uke for Mother's Day in Australia. Now we're all following you, husband, 7yr old daughter and me! You're so natural and great song choices!. ;-)
I've been using the 10 day course last year while camping, i now learning more while in isolation, even bought myself a Aklot Ukulele, i'm well impressed and enjoying these courses! Thanks Andy!
I'm right here, laughing and having fun watching you. My first uke will arrive in a few days. And i'm so effin' excited. Love your tutorial very much. 😊
Thank you so much for your patience and enthusiasm. Thanks for making playing the Uke looks so easy. I tried once to tinker with the guitar, one that my daughter left behind, with your videos online. Now, my daughter bought me a Ukelele!
These lessons make learning ukulele so easy and fun! Your recommended First 50 song book has many of my favorite songs - that I want to learn. Thanks so much, Andy!👍👍💖
Im really enjoying this, and I think your singing is growing on me! I am finding that things are 'breaking' for me in different places to your order, but the beauty of this format is the ability to revise or advance at an individual pace and tempo. I'm currently compiling my own 'Cheat Sheets' on a day by day basis, but I must admit if there was an E book that laid out the Chords,Rythym, and Lyrics I know I would snap that up! Thank You for doing this and sticking with it! As a Diabetic I've been effectively stuck in my house since mid March and Learning Ukulele is a Lifesaver, both Emotionally and recreationally and has given Me just the kind of Goal I needed to remind myself that I can still do things to improve my situation !
That first 5 and a half minutes were just amazing undeniably amazing he’s awsome I think and a great teacher really helped me start off in my instrumental future 👍🏾
Hey Andy! I've been following your guitar tutorials for a while now & I asked fir a ukulele for Christmas from Santa as I was struggling to progress as F & C on the guitar are effin' cees to play. I have to say as much as I felt I'd stalled on the guitar it's been super helpful to have that foundation picking up the uke (& now I can play songs that are actually in the key of C without weeping that there's an F chord to thwart my endeavours!) Great tutorials, keep 'em coming!
SO cool!! I just bought an ukulele and thought maybe I´d be able to play riptide after quarantine.. Never thought I would make it in two days! Thank you Andy
This was on my B'day lol, btw these ukulele videos are really helpful. I had a ukulele in my house for no reason so I decided to learn how to play it because want to write my own songs with proper background music.
I see a lot of poeple struggling with G chord. As a beginner myself, I can suggest you to do this as practice; do not strum, just change chords between A minor and G. And when you are playing, try not to look down at your ukulele. This will make you gain confidence in changing chords. Start slow, and then go faster. As you go faster it becomes easier.
Fantastic teaching - I am getting there. Struggling strumming technique - some day use thumb, some day finger (nail down and pad up). Hopefully I'll get there!

So far so good. but, I have one major problem, can't do sing & play both together, if I play then I could not sing and when I sing then my hands stops playing. What should I do?
