    The amount of hate, racism, and blame for COVID towards the Asian community is disgusting. The fact that this topic is not widely covered across all channels makes me incredibly concerned. It’s gotten to the point that I’m scared to let my parents out of the house.
    Even so, I want to thank Eddie, Desus, and Mero for using the brand to spread the news. The more coverage this gets and the more disgust it causes will hopefully get people to stop these attacks by shining a light on all the bullshit that is happening. Much love and appreciation! As always, the brand is ethereal!!

    • @thezu9250
      @thezu9250 3 года назад +8

      Why is it a “black” thing though? There isnt some black hate organization that targets Asians. Its some idiots. Why should the whole black community take responsibility? How is that productive? Its happening in Canada too and its not black people doing it. So its weird that people want to make it an anti black conversation when it should be a “fight against Asian hate crimes”.

    • @toddleong1256

      @@thezu9250 You missed my point. The point is not to blame the entire black community as you say. That’s not at all what I said. The point is to ask the question - why are so many of the highly publicized incidents at the hands of Black people? At least in New York, this seems to be the case. Let’s at least not ignore that fact and ask - what’s going on here?

      @@robinsonshe06 yeah being a first gen Australian who grew up in the 90s to Asian parents, I understand the feeling a little too well how anxious the current climate must be making certain groups feel, and also how other groups must feel constantly... the more and more attention that these issues are given, the more support people get, and the more we edge towards redefining what is ‘normal’ and ‘acceptable’.
      (For background, Australia had our own Anti-Asian sentiment due to high immigration, or as it was commonly referred to in Parliament or the media at the time - “the Yellow Peril” - and this is before the lovely “One Nation” leader decided to also claim in Parliament that Australia was in danger of being swamped by Asians (she might have said Chinese specifically but same same right? Luckily that wasn’t the consensus among most of the general population, but there were still extremists (Skinheads) and they aren’t too different to their current modern counterparts (Neo-Nazi’s), and seeing a group nearby when out and about was when it was most terrifying.

    The obsession with race is tired. As proud as I am of my immigrant roots and my racial heritage, I pray to god this disproportionate attention to racial differences in America dissipates COMPLETELY. It will never make its way overseas because the rest of the world is not inundated with such inane nonsense. I love Eddie and his work, but if he wants to keep evolving, he has to think beyond race as being the biggest factor in peoples lives, because for most people outside of the Western world (that’s losing its grip on power day by day), it is not.
