2025 Isuzu D-Max Luxurious and Powerful! Electric pick-up truck
A prototype version of Isuzu’s electric pick-up highlights design and technological tweaks
Though it has taken some time, the market for all-electric pickup trucks is expanding quickly, and Isuzu is the most recent company to enter it with the Isuzu D-Max BEV. This is our first glimpse at the new truck in prototype form, but we anticipate that when it gets to the UK in 2025, the final version won't look all that different.
The all-electric truck industry, which is now limited to the practical Munro MK1 and the plug-in Maxus T90 EV, is expected to expand quickly in the near future as Volkswagen is considering developing an ID.Buzz pick-up and Toyota is developing an EPU concept to complement the conventional Hilux pick-up.
The Isuzu D-Max BEV and its combustion-engine brothers have a lot in common, as might be anticipated. Although it has a new front bumper, headlamp signature, and grille design, it still appears almost similar. The popular five-seat double-cab body design is being employed in this prototype version, and the body is generally identical to the ICE D-Max vehicles.
"Developed to meet a broad-range of commercial and passenger vehicle needs while retaining the tough underlying performance expected of pick-up trucks," according to Isuzu, is how the D-Max BEV is described. On board, there is continuous four-wheel drive with 174 horsepower overall, powered by an electric motor on each axle and 66.9 kWh of battery power. This is 12 horsepower more than the diesel option. Isuzu states that the maximum payload capacity of 1,000 kg and the towing capability of 3,500 kg are the same as for the diesel variants.
Although the Maxus T90 EV's range is unknown at this time, it can go 220 miles between charges thanks to a bigger 88.6kWh battery.
Although the price hasn't been disclosed either, we anticipate it to be somewhat more costly than the diesel D-Max that is now on the market, which begins at £24,999. New alloy wheels, a seven-inch driver's display, and an improved reverse camera were among the minor upgrades made to the Isuzu D-Max earlier this year. We anticipate that the EV will get the newest features and equipment from the standard D-Max the following year
