Love this, been getting into Blender-Octane. The tip at the end about which tools is great, and especially applying concepts and workflows from different tools/people. Thank you so much, just subscribed 💫
I remember commenting on your stories and a few days later you're here creating this wonderful series. Dude, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
Oh that's very cool of you, I had approached Octane for blender before but didn't know anything about installation and usage. following the video, the installation is done. I can't wait to follow all the videos on Octane, I'm a photographer and I hope to have better results than what I get with Cycles 😉
Glad I could help! I definitely think you would. With Octane being unbiased, it’s lighting & color are calculated with a greater level of “realism” or actuality than you’ll get out cycles.
@@jbrashfx Perfect timing!! I subscribed and love how you explained everything. Honestly I appreciate you a lot for having a more A-B-C teaching style because of a lot of people doing tutorials don’t do that well in the 3D world and it becomes difficult to digest the information they are giving out. I hope your channel gets more views every time🔥🔥
@Jared Brashier Massive kudos and thanks for taking the time and effort of making and sharing these videos and for sharing Your knowledge. Though I have one suggestion, and please don't take it as criticism rather just as a suggestion that might make Your content more accessible and easier to follow. When making instructions/tutorials that contains a lot of "configuration" and/or "gui usage" I would suggest using a lower screen resolution for the "recorded screen" ((or in Blender scale up the GUI) This in order to make the "elements of interest" easier to see and discern for viewers who are watching on smaller screens. Where watching a recording done on a large high resolution screen makes the gui very hard to "resolve"... Just a suggestion (one that I have made to many other excellent creators) Best regards.
Does it work to bring in models from the asset browser, and append other files that have been modeled in other versions of Blender (particularly 4.1 or 4.2) and then just do lighting / shading in Octane? And did you notice or run any tests on comparing render speeds? Cycles vs Octane?
So I have been using blender octane since 3.2.1, I am trying to update it, went though the process, have the 3.5 version now, but my subscription for Octane Server is still using the same version. it says STAND-SUB-T1 instead of STAND-SUB-T2, and I tried uninstalling the Octane Server, but for some reason, my otoy account is only allowing me to download the server. I cannot launch the initial setup with Octane Studio. Any possible insight on this? is it still a different version of octane? I want to have the newest version but not sure if its using the old one since my server says T1
how can i make a temporal denoiser for animation using ocatne blender can you make a video showing how i can do this? i have an animation but it still comes out with some noise in some areas
Denoising in octane is done with render passes which I consider too advanced for this series. I’ll definitely do a video once the series is done going back through advanced settings. For now, just be sure your noise threshold is manageable, set your camera’s hot pixel removal setting to like a .8, & if you’re familiar with render passes you can go ahead and set up your denoised passes
Hi ,sorry to bother you again. at 12:00 is it normal that it says "no net gpus" on top of the viewport ? I noticed you didnt have the same message in your next chapter, where as I still have it. Thank you so much
Watch Time stamp 4:25 Message mentioned it ''Expires on : Wed 24 April 2024 '' So even if we install Free tier it means that this free tier is also available free only for some time duration? PLease reply
I find Octane for blender super laggy, with lots of "'no net gpu" lots of loads for huge scene as its "networks" rendered.. i'm asking myself if its not more fluent inside C4D.
Octane releases on their own cadence, so there’s not a direct way to do that yet. BUT they ARE working on an addon version of octane that is supposedly very close. So when that comes out you should be able to use just regular blender.
Hi! I see you're not really active at all, hope you're doing well. If you happen to see this comment I ran into a problem with the denoising. Basically I only see it working in the viewport. In the final render I can see it says "Denoising" after the last sample but it's still not really denoising at all. WHA DA FAK? Please help dawg!
half of this is not working on Mac. if OTOY is trying to sell us super expensive renderer with this free version they are doing ridiculously horrible job. Constant crashing, preferences not opening, etc. there is no way im buying this if i dont know it gonna work
I tried it today and must say, their implementation is so weird. Like why do we have to do so much steps to get even started, setring up all those defaults and settings. They should have made those priority in their custom build. Also dont understand why they use a node based system for their kernels. If they used proper blendee proos, why could easily make a preset system. You could basicslly do the same by eave those nodetree for the kernelw. But its just implementation again. Also adding octane for every node xategory, makes no sense. It makes adding nodes confusing amd polites the menu. Perhaps i i continue with this engine, im definitely going to make a custom build and making thing mich easier

Thank you for the setting tutorial! Want to try Octane, hope more video tutorials for Blender Octane.
Finally an updated series on blender and octane. I just subscribed to your channel because of this. I will follow for sure. Thank you!
Thanks so much!
Thanks for the awesome tutorial on setting this up! It's been years since I have been able to use Octane, stoked to check it out in Blender!

This is great my friend. Hope to see further tutorials 👍
More to come!
Please make more octane + blender tutorials! You are amazing!
can't wait till the advance tutorial drop🔥
I appreciate you!

Thanks, very helpful video! Looking forward to the next video :)
Thank you!!
Thank you, this was so helpful as I'm going back to both Blender and Octane after months on 3dsMax and Arnold.
What a coincidence! Glad this is helpful.
Thank you for making this video!
My pleasure!
HUGE thanks!! Things have changed from the earlier versions of how Octane works in here so I am following your tutorial on the scene setup:)
Glad it’s helpful! Part 2 drops tonight!

Спасибо большое!)
Hey what’s the font you used for the thumbnail? Super clean!
Ps that override chexkboz seems to be taken out of biw. I have octane using blender 4 and dont see the oceride chexkbox in the preview panel
3:47, which icone? If I open it manually it won't open but only runs in background.
Hey why does the free Ocatane need a "server" in order to be able to work?
Does it work to bring in models from the asset browser, and append other files that have been modeled in other versions of Blender (particularly 4.1 or 4.2) and then just do lighting / shading in Octane?

7:11 There is no Quality tab and some other tabs. What did I do wrong? P.S.Also Kernel preset is missing path
same here did you figure it out?
@@xaynizn6394 No luck, I tested rendering on Mac(which has the same issue) it came out fine but with a PC, it's pitch black. ;(
same issue and i'm using mac
any updates on the settings? a lot has changed and nothing is the same anymore..

is it possible to convert materials to octane materials .....just like in cinema4d
what happens after it expires? do i then need to purchase a montly package in order to use blender?
When I download the authentication it gives me error TCP 5131 and 5130, any help?
Can you use render farms with this render engine?
is it for life time ?
i also don't get the lights to emmit any light particles :-:
activating everytime we restart a pc isn't a hectic option? isn't there an option to auto activate or the activation stays activated!!
Please do regular Octane tutorials! There's not nearly enough information on it.
i cant see octane on addons

Is it free for blender forever or just for 30 days ? :D
Where's the userprefs.blend file?

Yes; that just means you aren’t using network rendering, which you’re probably not. I do, so mine says something different haha
@@jbrashfx I see. thank you

It would make it easier for people to know what you're doing if you put the keystrokes on the screen
Screencast keys will be installed on all of the proceeding chapters :)
This was a completely fresh install, as you saw 😂
Dont see DB on mac
Idk anything about the Mac version D:
