This is definitely a pack duo that shouldn't use a budget restraint -- I'd have loved to see how much you could do and what it would look like if you hadn't had to worry about money. It'd be cool to see a non-budget-restricted version of this build.

I really like the idea of a series of videos like this where you built a house with only two or three packs as opposed to using only one and basegame, it gives us more of an idea of what packs go well together and it's more similar to how most people play the game as I think most of us have only a couple of packs that we like the style of or that we love for game play It also give us an opportunity to see what packs match and that is very helpful for someone who has only a handful of packs and is thinking about buying another one but is not sure which You could make it a series and build a couple of houses where you use packs that go well together, like decor to the max, paranormal and strangerville or the castle pack and vampires, it could be a sort of "what to get next if you love pack X" series
This is such a good idea! That's how I play the game and I'm sure you're right about many others playing this way. Especially because Kayla is so knowledgeable about the build items she'd be so informative!
i mean this in the most loving and scared way possible, there's a lot of doubled dialogue in this one (not sure if that was an editing mistake), but the cottage is mad cute, i haven't bought a new pack in 2 years but this new one might break my streak

It would be nice if she redid this build without the budget constraints -- we could really get a better sense of how these packs go together that way. I know, and it's so easy to place a more expensive house in build mode, demolish nonessentials until it's at your budget, and then move a Sim in. Then when the Sim makes enough money, I either replace the furniture piece by piece, or I'll have saved the rooms as the original builder made it, and then place the room when I can afford it.
i feel like having a budget constraints really wasn’t the vibe for this video, personally i would have preferred to see simsie just show off all the items from the packs and show how well they work together rather than put something together that is “fine”

I LOVE the landscaping in this one! I'd like to see Kayla do some kind of landscape bootcamp where she tries landscaping in different kinds of builds and/or environments! Landscaping in the winter would be a fun challenge!
this pack genuinely came out at the best time for me. i'm doing a legacy challenge where i want at least one member of every occult in the family tree. i started with werewolves, and now i'm at the second generation which is the spellcaster one. and What's more perfect for a witch who's girlfriend is a cured werewolf than a moon themed crystal pack??? we already live in that exact lot!
I was literally up most of the night trying to make a starter home using Crystal Creations and Realm of Magic so this came at a good time. I started using the shell from you last shell challenge but couldn’t figure out how to make it work. It’s amazing how you can come up with designs as often as you do. I’ll keep tying to make my own but I might just give in and use your starter.

I can't blame her on a cash limited build. 9 times out of 10, the ceiling is the least noticeable thing. But that 1 time in ten (BOTTOMS OF TREE HOUSES!) are so, so much better with ceiling paint. (Yes, I build a lot of treehouses lol, they're fun.)

Okay so I just downloaded this because my attempts at building my own were awful, and the Realm of Magic bathroom set comes in a pretty mauve and like coppery swatch that I’ve never used that perfectly matches the wallpaper you used in the bathroom! This is a great starter house with a lot of fun ways to make it fancier! The landscaping is what really sold me. Thanks, Kayla!

Every Sim can visit the magic realm and buy at the Shops as long as you own Realm of Magic. Sadly only very few Metals are Sold there but a bunch of different cristals. And as a Spell caster there is a perk with 50% of and if you barter successfully you get 25% of. Cheapest way to get this stuff en mass.
I never play as a spellcaster but I have been since Crystal Creations. I am huge into herbalism, natural medicines, crystals, copper, jewelry making in real life so why not.
You should do an “X-men” house. Rooms for different special sims. Ex werewolf, vampire, mermaids, octomom, cat lady and so forth. Just a mansion with all the “mutants”
Please speak up for the players getting game breaking bugs and endless patches for patches. We bought them, Kayla, I know you don't but I'm all about giving people the benefit of the doubt because I don't know you personally, I just enjoy your content. @@grrrlsrock2108 That really sucks and not how things should be for such a big company producing such expensive games... I play on a Mac which is semi old so my game runs really poorly but that’s expected w my computer I guess. Surprisingly my sims 3 runs better on my computer now than my sims 4!!
i play on an inexpensive laptop and i have literally never had any of the bugs that i see discussed so maybe some people just get lucky?? its strange tbh
As if almost they should have included crystal creations in the realms of magic but at the same time, realms of magic, vampires and werwolf back (additional imaginary fairy pack) should have been just One big pack... literally it makes you appreaciate Sims 3 more in terms of content and design of packs.
Hey Kayla, Maybe you could make an affordable house sometime, so you can fill it up a bit more and have to make less sacrifices. So more in the 30.000 to 40.000 simoleons catagory.
Fun fact, the charging grid for the gems actually charges all day long in the Magic Realm! I found it out by accident but its super handy!
It also does in Sylvan Glade and Forgotten Grotto I think!
