- Join us on an epic land-clearing mission on Old Byrd Farm as we tackle invasive species and uncover pieces of forgotten history! In this video, I’m clearing a path from the already cleared chicken coop field down to the swampy area, battling against the persistent privet and wisteria that threaten our land.
Watch as the land transforms and reveals its secrets, including an unexpected find-an old broken beer bottle dating back to the late 1800s or early 1900s. What stories might this relic tell about the days gone by on the farm?
Our adventure takes an even more intriguing turn when we stumble upon an old, unknown dam. This hidden structure once served to hold back the creek waters, hinting at past land management practices and the ingenuity of former inhabitants.

Happy to see more privet and wisteria removed. Thx for doing this, filming it and sharing it with us.
Great video! Thanks for sharing it 😊 🙂 😀
The little tractor that could...man, that thing is a God send...
Yes it is
hi U aaAnnie dog- Awesome video in dam area and clean out- Nice music Robert so relaxing
Clearing and claiming more land is always good thing. Working through from behind towards the camera was fun, the Kubota and you appearing out of the dark reaches of the jungle. The pockets of land that are uncovered always take on a fairytale quality, as does this. Yes, the dam may be as old as the terracing, going back to the Whitehead plantation days. You need some native wetlands plants and grasses for the swamp and creek area to add to what is already there. As always you can read the land like a trail scout. That is a huge black walnut, very beautiful. Perhaps do some drone over the cleared areas? Wish there was a way to mount one of the dash cams on the front of the Kubota without knocking it off. 😊 Looking forward to the metal detecting. Enjoyed it all!! 👍👍❣️❣️
Just seeing this… ROBERT, JUST LET HATERS HATE! IM WRITING IN ALL CAPS SO HOPEFULLY YOU SEE THIS. YOU HAVE WAAAAY MORE PEOPLE WHO LIKE YOU THAN HATERS. DONT LET THEM GET TO YOU!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ we enjoy all your adventures and building or distructing! We follow to enjoy and just see a little bit into your life and land. Thank you and you just get your videos out and we can enjoy them and screw the rest!!! ❤️
If it comes to a bet between you and the privet/wisteria, my money is always on you! That is one nice looking walnut tree, it will be so grateful to be wisteria free I am sure. Thanks Robert.
Watching all the sunshine break through the darkness was so satisfying to see. Again amazing work Robert
That Kubota ROCKS! Way to clear brush Robert!
Get your chain saw ready for some more wisteria clearing. Love watching you clear the land.
On behalf of the magnificent black walnut tree, thank you!
The Wisteria and Privet War !!!! I am very sure no matter how long it takes that Robert will be the Victor 🎉and TRIUMPH 😂❤
Can't wait to see that bon fire!!
The OBF gives up her secret gardens and is always full of more surprises. 🌻
Looking great. Hello doggies
The farm is really looking so much better as you clear the unwanted brush and trees. It looks a lot better and larger! Keep hacking away at it, Robert. One day, you'll not even be able to recognize the place as it once was. 😊
Your farm is lookin' good!😁 What fun finds - the little swamp, the bottle, and a man-made dam. Lotsa history there.
I'll be tuning in when you're out there with your metal detector. Can't wait!
You work SO hard and have accomplished SO much! Glad to see that Blue and Annie love it out there. Funny how she'll splosh around in the muddy water yet he doesn't even like to get it on his feet! They're the best fur babies! Enjoy seeing them.🐶💙💜
Digging up wisteria. A good day for Robert😂
I enjoyed watching the clearing to the swamp. It might be cute to place the broken beer bottle over a LED votive candle.
Just love seeing Annie and Blue running around chasing the tractor, to the swamp and back… they have a great life and are so happy! It’s WONDERFUL seeing the tractor decimate all that wisteria and privet (spelling?).
Aloha 🌺 Robert, my that was Awesome! Great to see Blue & Annie having fun! 🥰🌺
Hey Robert, Long time viewer from New Zealand. The broken bottle you found may have been used as a poor mans lantern. A candle was placed in the neck of the bottle and the sides protected the flame from the wind. Wishing you every success in your endeavors.
Wow! You're doing a spectacular job, Robert! The farm is looking great!
Thanks!
You have a right to be proud of it, you have done an amazing job, on your property.
Wow, Robert, really looking good!!!
You are so blessed to have a water source on the land.
That was fun! Inspired me to reclaim my own land that the blackberries have stolen. Our version of wisteria bites back!
Robert you are winning the battle against the evil hateful wisteria & privet. What you have already cleared looks good. Your determination is amazing you just don't give up. In the beginning I thought your grandchildren would still be clearing wisteria. Excellent work. The farm has come such a long way & looks better with each video.
Robert, you are showing that private whose boss, good for you you make that farm looks so good every time you work on it. I enjoy your videos. Keep them coming and goodbye to Asteria.
Love seeing the OBF getting back to the way it was meant to be. Clearing all the overgrowth of privit and wisteria is making a huge impact on the groind. And will probably help with drying up some of the excess water issues.Your doing a great job Robert.
I can’t wait to see what pops up in the dormant seeds and bulbs plants. Who knows what will grow! ✌🏻💞😊
You need a drone and show the different areas of the property. Congratulations on the progress!
Hello Robert if you have an issue with losing the hair pins for the tractor, take a small wire and wrap it
around the pin and a part of the brush hog near the location where the pin is used. even if it comes out
it will not be lost in the cuttings. looks great more and more open and useable land.
More land for the chickens to forage around in and stay out of the road! Looks like a park setting now! Woohoo!
Looks really good. You cleared a lot. I'm looking forward to the metal detecting!
Happy dance 💃💃 it looks so good!!
That's one mighty little machine. It's Sunday morning here in Queensland, Australia. Enjoying your video with my coffee. Another great job, Robert. Good morning Blue dog, and Annie dog. Love your new sunnies. Kate from OZ.
Hi Kate from Queensland, I’m watching from Brisbane!
Hi Robert, love when you’re on the tractor cleaning up more of your farm.❤🐈🐶🥰🐕🦺🐔🐦⬛🐝🚜
@@chriswilford3576 Hi Chris, nice to meet you. I'm just outside of Brissy.
Good morning!
@@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG Good morning Sir.
Hey Robert, I was thinking maybe after you get your clear cuttin done, maybe you could get a drone or borrow one and give us a look of the entire farm from the air. I know u did that once before. Doing a good job Robert, don’t let the hater’s bait ya either. A lot of them try to be negative strictly because it’s a southern farm and all kinds of other stupid reasons. It’s your farm and you work and do what’s comfortable and applicable to you. Your preserving history and restoring a house and like u mention on the other video, people don’t show what all goes on behind the scenes and how much it costs especially when u don’t have sponsors. Screw everyone that doesn’t understand that.
Plus the fact that he's been bad sick ,recovering
I agree, people who have never worked property that is that overgrown and had been abandoned for years, should hush and just listen and learn all the lessons Robert is sharing of bringing the OBF back to life, he did say at the beginning of this journey, it could easily be a 6 year plan. I think it's amazing how much has been accomplished already and always new surprises.
Takes me back to when you first started clearing. Great to watch that new area appear,it is exciting.😊
It is amazing how much land appears when the privet is gone.Great work !! Look forward to thebonfires,
I know your dogs are smart and get out of your way, but Lord it makes me nervous watching them 😮😊 The farm is looking great!!
And the darkness became light…. Love it!
Always excited to see a new Old Byrd Farm upload! So much progress- looks great!
💜
New sunglasses!!! 😎
Something very satisfying when I hear the tearing and crunching of vines ripped from the ground and bush-hogged. I remember the farm road by the barn, how wet it was before you worked it. In the meantime ... Keep your eyes open for a chest of treasure.
Great vlog...the property is looking better every day...lots of progress... clearing the land of wisteria and keeping it off is a lot of work...but fun to watch it opened all up .....take care....... Deborah 🇨🇦
What a difference. Looking forward to the bon fire!
Sharon here.... great to see the property being revealed and the sunshine shinning through! 🙂👍❤☀️
Looking great Robert! Hope this fines you well.❤😊😊❤
Great video! I love to watch you clear land off.
I truly wish and hope that many artifacts are found. There is something so mesmerizing about holding an object that was last held a hundred years ago. Blessings from Michigan.
Great video and it’s looking so beautiful. Can’t wait to watch your burning pile. I like that watch piles.🐾🐾
Robert, glad youth is on your side-lot’s of privet to go! Good job!
Robert, didn't Grandpa tell you," you got to put the pin in!"
Farm is looking wonderful. I picture the land you just reclaimed as a fields going to a little pond or a brook running through it. Nice, very nice.
Thank you for sharing your hard work vidoe with us. I'm tired just watcing. Take care and watch out for snakes. God bless.
Looking great Robert. Wonderful hard work
Those dogs are living their best life!❤️😊
This brings back memories of previous videos. It looks good.
I love watching you clear out the privet and wisteria. So rewarding for you to be able the claim more of your land. Great job Robert!❤
Enjoyed from Texas!
Progress is pretty !!!
Wow! Awesome clean out! I love watching the dogs watch you. They are so curious. Annie dog sure loves her water!😂
Wow Robert. It's looking pretty good !
Always enjoy the land clearing videos
Looking Great. Perhaps the sunshine will help dry the land near the creek.
It is amazing ! Now you have a lot more usable land. The dam explains the swampy areas, even with it being gone. It can dry out no w. Take care !
So exciting to see you clearing your land and discovering more about it too!
Go Robert go!
Yes! Absolutely love seeing more nasty wisteria and privet towed to the burn pile. Can't wait to see it light up the night sky. I wonder if that little dam was to create a small stock tank back in the day? Gonna be fun to metal detect the new ground and see what the OBF reveals. Great to see you back to work full time after you defeated round 2 of that bug that's been going around.
Good job Robert things are looking great. U couldn't have done without your helpers Blue and Annie girl
Excellent project. March to the swamp. Good things will come of it, I'm sure
Wow! What difference you can see. It’s a great thing to see more land cleared from the nasty wisteria that took over. The big orange tractor sure does a fine job at clearing land. She’s surly is a blessing. Looking forward to the metal detecting. I’m hoping you’ll find some cool artifacts. It’s too bad that the beer bottle was broken.
Oh, by the way. Did you lose your sun glasses again (I knew they were your favorite) as I noticed you had a different pair on. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🐾🐾
You are 100% right, Robert. Clearing land is endless interesting. There are always discoveries.
Looks more beautiful every single time!
Looks great, you are doing an amazing job.
Hey Robert,
I really enjoy the land clearing videos. Keep up the good work. I also enjoy your dogs.
great music!
Oh my goodness what a find!
Looking great
You can get the circular Lynch pin Robert that probably won't get pulled out by the brush like the R clip for the tractor.👍
There are 2 small spots I have now cleared of wisteria. Literally small spots compared to another part of the yard. It's just as satisfying seeing fresh dirt now as it is to see you clearing it from your land ha ha.
Hey Robert, Just got our shirts today, love them, In this day in time don't waste your energy on negative 😉, Your doing great things with your life. But the only thing i hate about your videos, their way to short, i could watch you for hours. Fans from Kentucky 😊❤, but i need a Cat update. Miss the Cat. Nothing like watching a southern Man walking your property with your dogs. Stay safe and God Speed 🙏
Little Orange Tractor working hard.
wow just wow
I like your new sunglasses. 😊
I enjoy watching you clean up the property😊
Fantastisch Good work Robert you te best te natuur te moostiun thans te video Top men good weekend 🚜🌾🌿🎽🧢🧤🍹⛅🎧✔️😎🌳🚚
Looking good. I wanted to let you know I cleaned my ggf headstone today. I used some of my first gallon of D2 and I was influenced by Robert and Robert . Thanks guys
That is awesome!
IT LOOKS WONDERFUL!!!!!!!
That is great progress. Looks amazing. Hope you find some great artifacts when you medal detect.
Good video Robert! The property is really coming along🌞 You have really come a long way with both your channels and all the other projects you have going on! It's amazing, you've worked hard for this☀ Take care, Blessings sent your way
That's gonna be a lot happier Black Walnut tree when you cut all that Wisteria out of it. I like Black Walnuts, but they are a lot of work to shell.
A lot of work to shell and a mess to husk!
We have a lot of old bottles on our property too
That is a beautiful black walnut tree
Do you have to worry about venomous snakes in your jungle? Take care and thanks for the fun video!
Robert, The Old Byrd farm is looking better all the time. I don't remember if you ever said anything about this or not, but was anyone ever buried on the land. Again really looking good.
I read that certain trees will help dry wet areas. Examples are willow, birch and others. May help your swamp
Looking great 👍
Amazing how much you have reclaimed!
looking forward to a burn video or livestream!
Or both ❤😊
Coming soon!
Annie Dog is hilarious. I notice Blue tends to stay near you.
I worry about your future hearing. I never see you wearing hearing protection when using the chain saw, driving the tractor, etc. You don't want to be like me with hearing loss and tinnitus.
The pin thing was pretty funny!
Hello, and what a difference a little or a lot of cleaning up can do .I thank that little tracker it works hard ....thanks for sharing and take care 🙂 ❤️
The tractor did a great job clearing off that L Z . Keep an eye out for booby traps , V C and Mr.Joe Noshoulders
