Hi Travis and Suzi. More awesome Guy Sebastian !! Hopefully, I sent the correct link this time. I'm a little technologically changelled!! This time the choir Guy surprised, surprised him!! It's another fun video. It's sad that the American Music Execs wouldn't get behind him because he wouldn't change his style of music or videos to reflect the style of what's expected in America now!! He's a Christian family man and extremely talented so I guess they didn't understand that.

Unfortunately when a lot of Aussie artists tried to crack the American market they were told by record company execs & producers etc that they would have to change their style, image, song choices etc etc. The majority like Guy said NO. Classic example is Cold Chisel who were told to change their style of music. The music exec was over an hour late to a meeting because of his dogs birthday party. Chisel were shown no respect & their response was a # 1 hit "You got nothing I want." Dedicated to music exec Marty Schwartz.
Most of with hiphop they wanted us to use an American accent instead of embracing it for its uniqueness
the thing I love most about this is you can see the genuine joy on Guys face, he really appreciates his fans, and it truly shows in this.

One thing about Aussie artists that's completely different in other countries is that they support, love & respect each other 100%. No matter the genre of music, no matter who it is they all respect each other immensely. There's no jealousy or "beef" as u yanks would say, our Aussie music industry isn't big enough to have fighting between artists instead the Aussie music industry is family

The song they were singng "Love on Display" was written bu Guy for his wife Jules. Spoiler alert! Jules was in on the surprise lol. This is who Guy is first comes family, friends ,music fans, HIs generosity knows no bounds. Setting up The Sebastian Foundation with his wife to help those less fortunate....Did a 500K walk and raised 1 Million $ to set up an in schools program for students who were struggling with the effoects of the Covid lockdowns and stresses, depression etd.. It is run free of charge for any student who needs the support of their Open Parachute Program.

Guy started out with an Afro, he didn't keep that for long, but I guess that suited him too! He is an emotional song writer and feels deeply about helping Aussie kids, it would definitely not be easy to change that depth for a superhyped US producer's big plans! 🤗

I don't think it (the US thing) had to do solely with faith tbh.
And he's no prude. In an interview he explains it saying he was told he had no edge and would need to mess his image up more (swear in his songs and stuff) He's always wanted his live shows to be suitable for all ages so he doesn't drop f bombs etc in his songs. Doesn't nean he never swears outside of his songs, he does, he's human lol.
John Farnham had isues cracking into the US too. They wanted him to move there. Think he was told he was too old too.
As did Jimmy Barnes and others. Trying to mold and change people.
