Great job Miss Josey. Loved learning about some of the history of Tanzania. The children take right to you. That says a lot about you. You were absolutely beautiful with them. Educational and enjoyable. Thank you.
I am so lucky to have come accross your video its partly interesting and partly a sad one didnt know that Zambians also were taken as slaves...African history touches all Africans from different African countries l am Zimbabwean but Tanzania's history touched me so much.. Thank you for sharing thought you were Kenyan one love Africa....✊👍✌⚘🌷🌹💖💕💞❣🙏
awesome take by your guide of the area.. he seemed really dedicated.. to his craft.. beautifull to see the kids getting all exiceted too .. & just being their usual energetic selves.. ' it's a pity though that the ex colonials don't seem to be concerned of their footprint they left behind . ' would be interesting to try & provoke them to get involved from a cultural aspect to help Tanzanians preserve a bit of their origins as a nation .. ' I say this as am from Sri Lanka & we have a couple of forts that were built initially by the Portuguese & then the Dutch took over & finally the British .. & even today there seems to be an effort from the Dutch mostly to keep the channels of cultural preservation alive & government to government funding for the cause .. also guess other nationals run Ngo's so it's lead to a reemergence of business activities in the form of b&b's guest houses boutique hotels & cafes in the forts along side the locals who live in the forts itself who also have jewellery stores & souvenir shops there's still an area that the court house functions in as well incl churches mosques etc .. we'd have to start kinda teasing the Arabs Germans & English to get involved in similar activities to get these old buildings & historical locations some modern chick ambience .. ' josey girl. you feel me .. don't be shy to mention these hints esp when dealing with historical land marks that immigrants & colonizers left their mark .. at the end a the day even though it's all in the past .. there's no reason why it still can't be an inclusive endeavour for all those concerned .. ' damn I'd just have to go there & get some reactionary action kicking ...
I've long said we in the west should be helping build infrastructure in the old colonies, especially those struggling to develop as the west has the infrastructure it has due to the resources extracted in the 1800s through the first half of the 20th century. Belgium building that damn in the Congo river to provide all of Africa with clean and cheap electricity would be a good start! When colonialism ended the now free nations were left to fend for themselves without the knowledge or skills to thrive. It takes time to educate a generation with the skills necessary and longer still for them to use that knowledge constructively. The lack of help with higher education and "skilled trade" training after decolonisation I could have helped solve for a lot of the problems in former colonies (along with redrawing borders so they actually made sense and not the arbitrary lines drawn on western maps.
IAM just blown away just to look at this scenery and my mind began to think about it in the biblical way how jesus was gathering up his disciples and to see that it was like the bible had unfold before my eyes it was so amazing to me. when i read my bible i would imagine it in my mind but to see this its life forming for me and the only thing i can say is wow and thank for sharing your video's with us.
Seeing a Chelsea fc flag on the bus then finding a liverpool fan (my home team no less!) really brings home how lucky we are to have the premier League and how international the beautiful game is.
Good video and narrative. The history of colonial Tanganyika later Tanzania started from this town but not the history of the Native people who have lived there and other parts for thousands of years. Our history does not start from when foreigners came to Africa.
This could have been a two part video. First part about the history and second part about all the men trying to be Miss Josey’s boyfriend. Lol. Thanks for another video.
Bagamoyo = Bwaga Moyo = leaving heart. That is where slaves left their heart when they were shipped out. I visited in 1988. It was sleepy town. Enjoyed the beautiful doors on the houses and the sea breeze.
Nice history lesson Josey. Would like to know from the historian if kilimanjaro is known as the white mountain. Trying to trace if Tanzania is the true Lebanon.
That's interesting I've never heard that before. Tanzania might be a little too far south, there's definitely been major geological/climate changes north of that region though, that's where I would look. I've heard some of the desert regions used to be more like lush forests, so that would make some sense for people to move away from those areas. More specifically this made me think of the Bir Tawil region, that areas been unoccupied for some time. I found some people have recently trying to establish a kingdom there and their chosen name for the area references "Yellow Mountain". Possible there could be a mountain that used to have snow on top but no longer does. Very interesting topic
Wikipedia encyclopedia for Kilimanjaro mountaiin. Scroll till you see Johann Ludwig Kraft in 1860 also Jim Thompson claimed in 1885 of the ancient Kiswahili. You're going to see colonizers don't want you to know it is known as the white mountain. Then in the scriptures of the eth Cypher ( not the bible) any where you see the word Lebanon with underline dashes, click on it and you see white mountain. Most things that happen in scriptures is in so called Africa. The map is upside down because Eden supposed to be at the top of the Summit.

No, we wouldn't. The germans found that swahili was already a lingua franca in East Africa. It was spoken across the three main trade routes across central Tanzania all the way to modern eastern DRC, hence any tribes that had estabilished some centralized governing system had its merchant class fluent in swahili. Hence the germans decided to promote swahili as the official language of communication. However german language would have had the same status as english currently What is more certain is that, If the Europeans hadn't arrived in the 19th century EA. The people inhabiting modern Tanzania, uganda, Kenya would all be Muslims(fully arabised Africans) similar to what happened to Somalis who are closer to arabs. This is not a good thing development wise.
It’s a mistake you gave them money. Now this will encourage them to stop people from shooting videos unless they get paid.Which distroy tourism in the near future. If you willingly give it to them that’s a different situation.
Interesting! Europe's obsession with Africa! Good video, Miss Josey.

Really depends on in which area you want to stay. You can literally go from 20€ to 2000€. Gotta research yourself.

Crazy how Tanzanians would be speaking german now if Germany wasn’t stripped off of their colonies
No, we wouldn't. The germans found that swahili was already a lingua franca in East Africa. @@stevejobz4481 Thank God. I would never want to be muslim
No they would not look at Togo or Namibia. Both were German but don't speak German.
@@pauljones3557 Yes because they also siezed to be German colonies after the world war
