This is one of my absolute favorites. It’s my go-to if I need a lift. This song is special to Ren because it was the first song he did completely independently after he parted ways with his management. It’s such a vibe! He’s a master of making infectious beats. I love watching him jam out with his film buddy Samuel Perry-Falvey, who filmed Hi Ren and most of his one-take videos. I l call them the Dynamic Duo 😼 Ren is 33. He lost most of his twenties because of his illness. But this and many of his other songs has a message of pushing through the darkness and struggle. He found his power and purpose through music. He’s an inspiration ❤

Ren is now about 32-33 yrs old. he's spent 1/3 of of his life in isolation, not spent in the sun. he also looks so young cuz he's so thin. he can only eat special beef and a few veggies. i just want to hug him.
That was my first time listening to this artist. And, "artist" does seem like the operative word. He definitely points out the difference between commercial success and artistic success. One of the better things about social media (besides "Immediately Yes, of course) is that the artist can survive and sometimes even excel. Those of us who were here long before RUclips when "commercial" was the only sustainable form of success.

Agree with Davidperkins. I’m a 50 year old guy who has not felt that deep, giddy, emotional connection to music since discovering Pearl Jam 30 years ago. In no way am I stuck in the 90’s. There are tons of musicians I have fallen in love with over the years, but REN (and the musicians he surrounds himself with) are the first to give me that same feeling of awe and connection as the music of my youth. We are watching something/someone truly special. Take David’s advice and follow the rabbit hole - enjoy the ride.

I'm getting the same sort of buzz I got living my teen years through the sixties where there was so much innovation and new music to discover. Have to thank this young man for reigniting that feeling. Just as an aside I found Ren due to same or similar medical conditions so things like SICK BOI are particularly powerful to me.

I think because he lost most if his 20s to illness.

Do "1990s (OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO)" first. 3. Do BLIND EYED FT. ANGRY CAR PARK ATTENDANT - with Sam Tompkins first. There are several versions of this.
