Thanks for sharing this - such a great feeling when you wear such a living history on your wrist! Vintage watches are truly different than anything else purely because of the history and stories it has been part of.
Absolutely beautiful watch. And interesting choice of strap. Also to me the condition is very good for how old this watch is. Great Pickup. Now I want one too :)
Thank you Asim bhai and I was also surprised to see the condition of the watch. It was with someone who either took extreme care of it or did not wear it at all. I was lucky! If you get your hand on one of the RICOH automatic with date jump - you will love it!
Oh I will definitey be tryig to get oen of these. The shape is also extremely interesting. I believe people call this Bell Bottom and it is a must have for vintage collectors. Anyway great pickup and hope you enjoy it.@@WatchandmoreIndiaofficial
I happened to have inherited a Ricoh from My Grandfather.. You know when you mentioned the price, it made me feel weird because i honestly do not think watches that a family heirloom can have a price to it. And that is exactly the beauty of it !!
My father's favourite RICOH automatic was snatched from train and he never bought an automatic after that sad incident. Although his reason behind buying RICOH in 80s was he could not afford a SEIKO and hence he went for RICOH. But I think RICOH was no less than other brands. I finally gifted a SEIKO to my father after his retirement and he wears that daily at least 6 hours. You are absolutely correct - such memories and emotions cannot be evaluated in terms of money - they are priceless.
Hi can you do a video on a very rare watch " Alwyn Trendy ". It gained lots of popularity with the youths in the early to mid 90's. It was every youths dream watch back then.
While i have nothing against vintage watches, it doesnt fit my taste.. i have a watch citizen eagle inherited from my dad( actually stole it from.him) and trying to get it work.. also imo history and heritage feels more connected when its personalized.. else its just gyan which would hardly interest anyone!! I mean, i got into HMT because my dad told about it or i read it in some story in school days.. but dont have the same feeling to any brand even it it dates back to the 18th century.. again its my view , it can differ from person to person I do have few questions if you are willing to answer (here or through your next video.. its upto you) 1) what attracts you to the vintage watches or what made you start collecting such watches?. Want to understand the mindset behind this collection 2) you mentioned about polishing liquids in this video.. do you have any reference brands available in India both for brushed and polished surfaces 3) while vintage watches are quirky and a good conversation starters, but how often would you wear it as compared to the modern contemporary watches?
My father is a retired Indian Railway Senior Section Engineer and used to travel a lot in his service life. He was travelling and his RICOH automatic was snatched and he was so sad about that incident that he never bought any automatic watch again. I gifted him a SEIKO automatic recently and he wears it at least 6 hours daily. This was my always at the back of my mind and wanted to add a RICOH back to our family collection. My uncle actually inspired me to get into this vintage watch world and he is passionate about vintage watches, he has my grand father's mechanical watch and I will inherit that soon. I started reading about watch brands that are not active any more and their contribution towards R&D of watch technology - RICOH got added to my wish list because of their date jump push button mechanism. 1) What brought me in vintage watch - as I am in love with history of watch world - when I spend 30 minutes every day with my watches including vintage collections - somehow I feel like I am connected to those great engineers who hand crafted such great examples of engineering many many years ago - I just cannot get over it. I think one has to receive that call from their inner soul and until you feel the connection from inside - its very difficult to feel it. 2) I am yet to try polishing some of the vintage watches I restored with help from a watch maker in my locality - but I am going to try that soon. I have watched this video on RUclips and read the comments and got convinced. ruclips.net/video/PXzHyHdS5-k/видео.htmlsi=lnhTHdY_XjMIVNzE Here is link to polishing cloth - amzn.eu/d/g9TAgmA 3) How frequently I wear vintage watches - I am in a senior position in one of the US MNC and due to coverage requirement I work from home till 2 PM and then I work from office in the second half of the day almost till mid night. I follow 2 watch every day schedule. I wear vintages to office Tuesday / Thursday and I wear vintages at home Monday / Wednesday / Friday. I never found vintage watches out of fashion and never felt that they are not for daily wear. Only season when I avoid wearing vintages outdoor is rainy season for the obvious reason.
@@WatchandmoreIndiaofficial thanks for your response Something similar happened to my dad with respect to his watch when he was in Nigeria, but it wasn't any mechanical watch. post that his boss gifted him a Raymond weil but he never wore it even once as it was an expensive one After all these years I got him and HMT Roman, but I had to convince him to wear it . Glad to hear your POV on vintage.. I do appreciate your emotions to get back the Ricoh in your family

To sir Sharma Ji se Rs 1350(without strap & shipping) main HMT Janata lu ya main usko na lekar koi Richo watch dekdu i am a student Looking for a budget mechanical watch for everyday wear
Sharma Ji ke HMT at 1000 - 1200 and Ricoh at 1800 - 3000 are both great value for money. You can buy both if you can afford. My personal recommendation is stay away from HMTs at 6000 - 20000 as its not at all worth.
aap please ek baar service center bhej do agar warranty me hain, agar warranty me nehi hai to aap ke local area me kisi experienced watch mechanic to dikha do ekbar.

I have 4 Ricohs must say its better than most HMTs in both looks and movement performance with very unique case and dials
Fully agree, RICOH watches are far superior than HMT.
From where can I buy one??
One of the best watches produced in Japan. Very durable at an affordable price.

I have a Ricoh Goldline 17Jewel Shockproof watch made in India. Can you tell me it's price ? And how much can i get, if i sell it to a collector ?
I have seen RICOH fetching price of upto 3k if the condition is good and model is in demand.
what will be the service cost of such watches and is citizen eagle 7 a good watch?
Service cost of RICOH , CITIZEN, SEIKO vintage watches should be 100 - 250 max and that too you need to get serviced once in every 3 years.
Is this a original watch (meaning watch movement and all) or just homage watch?
My assessment is its original
