My Empire doomstack was Empire captain on a Griffin, mage, 9 hellrocket artillery, 9 handgunners to deal with what hellrocket artillery couldn't manage to rout. It may be not perfect but deals great damage even if batttle is lost, and at some point Empire can raise 3 armies like this per turn if you have access to local building + global Handgunners.
Oh this map! My friend and I were doing a co-op and on this map the ai straight up decided it didn't want to attack us at the chokepoint. They went to the right side of the map by the river and then went literally under the map underwater. I still wonder when CA plans to bring submarines to the game, but I guess not yet huh?
Edit: At 17:44 you can actually see the mammoth on the right, that was in the exact spot to try and go underwater. I wonder if it would have if it didn't turn around at the end there.
I can kinda guess what happened here. Tried to attack Pack Ice Bay from the sea, expecting easy settlement battle. Forgot that armies can't land on that settlement and have to spend 2 turns marching from a nearby beach head. Got stuck with no movement and enemies arrived during end turn.
Cursed settlement, but also a good ambush spot for AI armies flooding to Norsca.

I ADORED how the Mammoths kept the Mist Stalkers between them, forcing you to prioritize the former during the crossing and allowing them time to re-Stalk, even if it seems all they did with that opportunity in the end was tie Balthasar down

Interesting that the AI scouts out the forest even though all 20 units are in the open. Instead of... you know... fighting the units they can see.

Have you ever considered updloading disaster battles that you just could not win?
I think it would be interesting to see, which battles are just not winnable, although the autoresolve gives a valiant/ close defeat.

he has before but usually (at least in tww3) there is some cheese to exploit in order to win. If he can't win, it should be obvious from the get go.

On a side note, any chance of you doing a random start run of warhammer 3 as a one off? More specifically the mod that also gives random global stat changes to your faction, to spice things up. If you already have i must've missed it, looked around your channel but never saw one.

i honestly think when in comes to spells costing 1 but actually costs 2.... it's actually something in the decimals which at times visibly take only 1 winds of magic and at times 2....
I have gone back to TWW2, the aggression in the map and the battles really makes the game more interesting.

I know this is old. But how could he tell the army losses happened before they started routing and without the balance of power bar at the top of the screen?
Apologies for a potentially dumb question I am quite new to Total War games and dont know a lot.
I might be wrong but there's a delay before a unit rout when they've got negative leadership so when he hovered his mouse on a unit he saw the army loss penalty on it.

time to watch this again the first time was a blast
same thing happened to me in Medieval 2 . on a bridge battle full stack enemy against my few ground archer and cavalry archers and 1 unit infantry and general. tried to hold bridge but couldnt than moved to sides of the map and won with minimal causilties. I think they didnt change the ai much

This type of tactic Legend used in his older campaigns, especially with Tomb Kings, where are a lot of choke points battles in the middle. Additionally the enemy sometimes wonders on other side, easily to be thinned out by missile or magic. Good illustration of the AI abilities.

All video game ai is a script. Its not true ai. It's never been anything but a very advanced set of if-then statements.
I forgot how bad the lighting was on certain maps with corruption going on. Reminder to never play this game without Ultimate Lighting 2.0.
I do a similar tactic myself on this map. As epic as it may look, I generally can never hold the line at the choke point.
It's not the "Size" of the army that matters, it's how you use it.

Literally did not implicate any criticism. I am genuinely surprised Gelt is level 15 on turn 99 late confederation or not. I have never seen a legendary lord past turn 50 not above level 25.
