Love this! What works for me is adding vitamin b complex, Arcadia shed support, lots of organ meat, fruits, and oily fish to their diet. If they get stuck shed, I add a mixture of coconut oil, olive oil, and vitamin e oil to a bowl and heat it up enough to where the coconut oil melts, stir it together, then put it on the stuck shed, and let it sit for about 30 minutes. If it’s really stuck or a couple layers, I add lube and Vaseline, and wrap it in plastic wrap. After that, I get a textured kitchen sponge and gently scrub the oil off, slips right off! I’ve had a couple rescues where it was really stuck on there and took about 3 times but it definitely worked! Plan on using this sphagnum method as well!
That is freaking awesome 👏 you are so talented with your goo’s The soak 👍 every goo owner should watch this. Sadly I have seen a lot of people ripping DRY or STUCK shed. Hurting them. If you want a tegu that’s going to be happy for its entire life ❤ this is a great tip. I just wish people cared as much as you. I’ve seen some sad 😞 tegu’s. But never any of yours ❣️🙂❣️ thx for sharing.
I just want to add one more thing that i saw on an older video of yours that i think needs to be said that most keepers dont know and thats that a drying out period works wonders for shedding. Most ppl think spray more or give them baths etc but a lot of times drying their enclsoures out makes the shed pop off and in nature thats def a thing. Humidity raises and drops all the time and some times keeping it high all the time can work against you especially during a shed cycle
Just ordered the bigger size sphagnum moss. Added 2.2 pound block back in October. Our house is very old and very dry. Keeping humidity has been a struggle, even with misting a gallon of water a day. Dexter is gonna be looking even better and I get to add more moss to his enclosure too. What video had the vitamin B and fish oil information? I'd be happy to watch again for the algorithm!
How do you know when your tegu is ready to come up? I check every day when I come home from work around 6 and haven’t seen him out yet since like November.
W hen we went to a park in Thailand. There were lots of monitor lizards there . Do they shed . I am from the uk . Find the shed fascinating . Best wishes
I tried that but it didn't work really well. His whole hide is full of sphagnum. I want to try the vitamin b method. How often does a big red get a human dosis? Thank you for all the great videos

What temp does it stay inside? More of a day temp 80 to 90°F? Or lower night temps to put them in a sleepier mode?

Any air holes in that tub? What concerns are there for suffocation, especially with multiple animals in one tote?
There are air holes in the tub
2 of mine seem to have toe shed issues. The Chacoan and the high black. The blue sheds the toes fine. Any toe tips? 😅
Making some now❤
💪💪
Can I do this with my lizard?
What fish oil do you use? Like fish oil pills, salmon oil from a jar? Im in the research phase of getting a tegu.
Salmon fish oil, it's sold on Amazon for dogs and comes on a large pump bottle.
Genius !!!
Appriciate it! 🫡🫡
