Who is Mahsa Amini?

  • Mahsa Amini is a 22-year-old woman who was arrested by Iran’s "morality police" for not properly wearing her headscarf. She was taken into custody and died three days later. Since Mahsa's death, protests in Iran have blown up, with women burning their hijabs and cutting their hair.
Police say Mahsa collapsed while she was detained and died of a heart attack, but her family says she was perfectly healthy. Witnesses allege seeing officers beat Mahsa as she was loaded into the police van, and there are also allegations that she took blows to the head.
The United Nations has said they received a number of videos showing Iran’s morality police violently cracking down on women for not following hijab rules. They’ve called for an independent investigation into Amini’s death.

Wow.. Just wow. Its 2022 and i am so baffled by how messed up we are. Women are just fighting for BASIC RIGHTS. FIGHTING - BASIC RIGHTS. We are humans, we are in 2022. Its time we actually do something good. We are literally one of the most advanced organisms on this planet with the most useful technology possible but we are yet to find piece in this world. When will this come to and end? When will we all stop fighting? When will we all become a team?

from what I know about my religion Muslim, we can’t force someone to wear hijab but we can remind them to cover their aurat. It depends to them to choose wearing it or not.. but seeing them burning hijab is just not right for me, if you choose not to wear them then it’s okay but please don’t burn them.. I have a friend who wears hijab at school but then not wear hijab(free hair) outside school and it’s totally fine for me. You shouldn’t force someone to wear what they don’t want

Also to the growing numbers of women who wear the hijab as a fashion statement more than it being an act of religious duty. It really defeats the purpose of wearing one on the head which is meant to conceal your beauty. So wearing one that looks like a turban/shower cap and having your neck on show and ears or having it sit halfway on your head with half your hair exposed too...really? Just don't wear one at all! It really serves no purpose 😕

Hijab should not be mandatory. I am not religious myself, but one thing I do know about Islam, is that hijab are completely optional and if a woman chooses to wear it, that's great, but if she doesn't, then no one should force her to because the only way to be happy about your religion is if you take pride in it without anyone else telling or forcing you what to do.
I think Iran's morality police are extremely lacking in Islamic education, they don't understand the fact that no one should be forced to wear a hijab because it's obviously not at all important or mandatory to wear one, and even if it is, I still don't think that justifies K!LL!LG somebody and be@ting them. (I am kind of censoring certain words out so RUclips doesn't remove my comment for using these words, although, I hope you understand what I mean).
I'm glad people are spreading awareness about the protest and what happened to Amini, it makes me have some faith in humanity.
hopefully they win the protest and the Iranian police learns a thing or two about stuff like this.
It's also embarrassing to see the government not doing anything at all about this...
do you guys remember the George Floyd protest? The entire world was spreading awareness about this, fighting for George Floyd, protesting everywhere.
This is exactly what we all need to do, we all have to spread awareness about Amini and everybody else involved in this situation, we have to protest for her.
RIP George Floyd, and RIP Mahsa Amini, they will be remembered 💔🕊️
