Yeah, the number of athletes qualifying for Olympics from India is very less as they don't meet the international qualification standards of Olympics. Whereas, from developed nations many athletes qualify therefore their number is more.

In my locality childrens of class 1 to 12 study 8 to 16 hours. No playground. Thanks to private schools giving huge pressure. It increases when they give olympiad exams or prepare for iit or medical

That’s the problem with our people we see particular matters with only our political filters. We don’t see the matters as it is as we Indians are too obsessed with politics. If one is appreciating the work and steps of the govt. he is labelled as BJP spokesperson or , and if one do some constructive criticism of the govt he is labelled as Congressi. If this kind of behaviour is shown by the politicians then it’s fine this is meant to be done by them as politician . But common people are also indulging in this. Mirabai is India's most decorated lifter, everyone is proud of her. True, she has recovered from injury and we should not have expected medal from her. But the thing is gov has spent approx 3 Cr rupees on her for Paris Olympics with the hope that she will win a medal. And if someone is getting opportunity to go to Olympics then there is no excuse. There might be problem in training or in extra push that day. So for that reason I put her photo. I had no intention to hurt anyone's feeling.

Dude this was Lakshya's very first Olympics. Any person with minimum common sense would know that the pressure in Olympics is different than any other competition in the world. Olympics has a 10 times bigger worth. Lakshya has won so many competitions that people expected a lot from him in his first Olympics. It's normal to choke under that much pressure. He's a human not a robot. And Padukone never blames the players to be choker. His sentence meant that players shouldn't wallow in self pity rather they should prepare harder for the next time. Its hard for you to understand that pressure when you're sitting at home and making videos and its very easy to judge them. Try to be empathetic and imagine yourself in their shoes. It's not an easy task especially for first timers like Lakshya. Until and unless you really know their plight, refrain from making such baseless videos and degrading the players. You basically proved that Indian audience is like a chameleon. When Lakshya was winning you people literally put him on God's pedestal and when he lost you people were the first ones to troll him. I would rather say you first judge your own mentality that you have degraded to such low levels you're trolling a 22 year old boy.

There are many who have won gold at their 1st olympics and at young age, like Neeraj Chopra won gold at 23, Duplantis won his 1st gold at 20, Arisa trew won her 1st gold at 14 and there are numerous examples. So, it can not be said that he failed because this was his first Olympics, he has proved he is the best by winning various medals at various events. Prakash Padukone said that players have to take the responsibility and he clearly mentioned that this was Lakshya's best chance. Not performing under pressure is chocking only no? Badminton has always been one of the major sports for India in Olympics. He did prove he's the best by winning but Indians are typical to expect more than they should. That's what happened here.
