I'm from Maui & those wristbands bring back so many memories! When I was a teenager my friends & I used to ask other kids that were tourists their name/room number so we could go get wristbands & have access to the pools....we'd go pool hopping all day at different resorts lol. It'd be way easier than repeatedly applying sunscreen to wear full sun coverage like Chris and Addie. Protecting yourself from cancer is way more important than looking cute. =)
I too have extremely fair skin. Burn so easily. Years ago when I was all 17 . I went to the beach with my older sister and a cousin and friends. Basically anyone who wanted to go lol. I lay on my towel in the sun for far too long. Then paid for it for about two weeks. I was in agony for the first few days. Could hardly move and let's just say a lot of weeping. My mum had a go at my sister for not telling me to move and walk also repeatedly put Sun cream on. I had put some on before I went . It was quite far away this beach . We caught a bus then train to get there. Just to have the luxury of sand. Because all our local beaches, which are still a car journey of half an hour, they are all stones beaches. Hard on your feet. So you can imagine me getting home on both public transport. I told my mum it's wasn't my sister 's fault. I was old enough to know better. My so probably didn't appreciate me getting burnt so quick. Since she is very different to me. Even though we share the same parents, she only has to be in the sun for five minutes and she's brown as a berry. Not fair. Plus she has curly hair. Natural. Same blue eyes as me though. Back then no mobile phones to phone parents. Even if we had we still had to make it home ourselves because we more than often do own a car. My mum was ok about it. She didn't exactly another me with sympathy though. 😣🙄 So since then I have been especially careful. Actually there were at least four of us who got pretty burnt up.. That sun is delicious but don't like the sea, take it for granted. Hope everyone has had a good summer though.😍😍
agreed thats what my mom said or this is what my mom says to us: When we go to the beach im not going to put sunscreen on u because its bad and cancer causeing and why do we not want to get the sun its beautifull and it gives u our vitamin D and way before sun screen was made cancer was beraly a thing but once thay added sunscreen so many people started getting caner: thats what my mom says when we go to the beach.

see, this is why you need local guides and people that know the resorts to show you and tell you stuff. Honestly, if you want good Mexican food, Northern New Mexico and probably the whole state, is where its at. there's a ton of good local Mexican places here and they are so good.

I have the same situation with long thick hair that grows fast and have had it every length. Just factor in that if you want to keep it short, you have to continue to get it cut and styled, so yes, it takes away the hassle of dealing with the long upkeep, but it doesn't end the hassle of upkeep. :)

I used to work at aulani! Loved that time in my life. But make sure you let the front desk know if you happen to lose a tooth while you’re there. They usually have an “in” with the tooth fairy 😉
There are even more cool secrets at Aulani. If you borrow an iPad from the front desk, you can make all sorts of cool stuff happen around the resort, there’s more secret hidden things (besides the key hole one by the gift shop). Near the restaurant that serves breakfast, there is a waterway that sea turtles take to get back out to sea. My Dad saw eight sea turtles in formation cruising through there one morning! ☺️ Also, Mickey picks out a new wristband color each day for the next day. If you talk to the staff, they will tell you about all sorts of hidden gems at Aulani. I hope that your family loved and enjoyed your time there as much as mine did. 💗
