    John! Tom from Easton here. I didn't know you have a you tube page. Thanks for all the support with my sx's and ss xi skis. The Billet Rock County intake grate you have is amazing for my 650 sx, love it! New subscriber!

    Hi there John, I have a 1994 Yamaha Waveblaster with a ported 701 61X/62T, bored 1mm over, DASA girdled head running 175 psi domes, Boysen Reeds, dual 38’s, R&D flame arrestor, Coffman pipe, Factory Pipe Waterbox, and MSD Enhancer and coil.
    I’m currently running the stock impeller and I want better acceleration and top speed. I weigh 190 pounds and usually ride lakes 1600 feet above sea level. The ski doesn’t cavitate, but I feel it can accelerate much harder and have a higher top speed.
    I was looking at a Solas YQ-CD-13/19, hoping that it will do what I want, since the stock impeller is 15/18, and I’m only getting 47 MPH, when I really want to be getting at least in the 50’s.
    With all the mods done to the engine, I would expect more then just like 2 mph faster then a stock 61X/62T. Based on the info I provided, would a 13/19 be a good choice for my application?

    Hi John. Would you say a Solas Concord 12/18 produces comparable pump pressure to a Hooker 10/16 Large hub?
    I really want a Hooker 10/16 for my modded 750bp swapped 550, But im also considering getting a Higher pitch Solas Concord because they're cheaper.
    Looks like Solas makes an 11/16 and 12/18 concord so I have a few options if I decide to go that route.
    Any input is appreciated. Thanks

      Hello Tye, thank you for watching. The Solas Concord is a good impeller. BUT it is no hooker.... The hooker is more efficient, Thus the 10/16 pitch vs the 12/18. Hooker is cut back. You could send out your concord to be modded, cut back, ect, but then why not just buy a hooker, that is good right out of the box?

    • @tyewvarnes
      @tyewvarnes 11 месяцев назад +1

      Gotcha. That’s good to know. I’m just going to buy a Hooker then. (No pun intended 😂) Thanks for the info

    Hi John, I have a 2000 XLT with the SBN44 I's and the 12/18 Solas pushing it and it has serious snappy power low and mid, but. That was someone elses setup that owned this ski and it only reaches 46-47 mph. I want it more cruiser efficient for long rides. What will get me back into the 60 mph range?
