After I saw “Grease” in 1978, I was on a very long international flight to Taipei, on an airplane! Back in the day, pre Walkman and cellphones where one purchases headsets to listen to music! There was an Adult Contemporary” Music playlist of about 15 songs and this particular song was listed! I completely fell in love with this track immediately upon hearing it! I loved it so much that I looked at my watch and made sure that I timed it where I would return every hour (there was no rewind or fast forward) just to listen to this song! When I returned back to the US, I immediately purchased her “Let Me Be There” album which also had this song! This song has a very ethereal, mystical and enchanting quality to it! ONJ provides the perfect breathy vocalization to it! It is one of those “Early Olivia” gems that I truly adore and cherish! It’s unfortunate that this song never became a hit and is relatively unknown! So many of ONJ non hits are just as good, if not better! 💕
David Bowie, Elton John and many others have also covered this song, written by Leslie Duncan.. who worked as a session singer to Dusty Springfield, Alan Parsons and Pink Floyd. She is also sang on the 'Jesus Christ Superstar' soundtrack. John Farrar certainly produced an atmospheric version of the song with ONJ ♡♡♡♡♡
