- In this video we take the fish caught ourselves straight from the ocean to the shop, create an impression of it on paper to save the memory for years to come, then we clean, prepare, and eat this great fish that nature has provided for us, even the scraps get saved as they are good to use as bait.
That guy is a character. He should have his own show.
He gets very excited for Ono ;)
saw your Marlin print at the barbershop the other day starting searching and here you go! thanks for posting....
Awesome!!!!!!!
Super awesome! That's a beautiful print. Your enthusiasm about every aspect of fishing (catching, printing and eating) really shows through and is inspiring!
Great video! Thank you for that. I caught a 52lb Wahoo off Bermuda and then I found out my little brother doesn’t like fish!! Can you imagine? It was so good, but I gave most of it to the Capt. so it wouldn’t go to waste.
Oh yeah! Awesome watching how you guys make the prints!
I like listening to him. His vibe and knowledge about what he is talking about. I Love it. I hope he is in more videos, first time watching this channel and I only see one more video featuring him. I hope there is more to come.🤙
Awesome stuff brada 🤙
Fabulous video, I am so grateful to see and learn. Shiso (Perilla) is in the mint family - as is basil, a very deliciously pungent (and beautiful) leafy herb and an excellent accompaniment to ono sashimi! Wonderful to see this whole circle of food catching, art, and culinary yumminess! Thank you!
That print is beautiful. It's interesting how white the meat is; I'm used to seeing very red tuna. I'm not familiar with ono.
That was so cool. Nice print. My first print didn't come out so good. Forgot to remove excess paint.
Thanks for watching! Yea removing excess paint helps a lot lol
I’m done👌🔥🤘🤙, this is my favorite fishing channel, I am pretty sure I recognize one of the guys in the video from Hokuloa🤙 I use to work there.
Naoki is a very interesting bradda.
Super rad video guys! Enjoyed watching!
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
I luv this print ! But from my searching on the u tube that paper is a bit pricey I’m going to give it a try with a second hand white bed sheet , now I’ve seen people do it but you have to leave a bit more paint on your fish as the fabric soaks it up pretty quick , and if you add color it might have to be heavier on it to , but I’ll experiment, oh great now I have a craving for sushi 🍣 😳
Excellent! Thanks for sharing!
Great video, Mr. Naoki!
Can you tell me what paper you are using and where you order it. I keep getting tears in my gyotaku paper. Thanks
Great video!
Awesome print, imagine messing it up when finally signing it...
Awesome video, where is this place I’d love to fish it and have a print made😊
How do you frame such a big size rice paper Art?
Good day sir. What specific ink ahould be used so that after the printing O can still wat the fish.
Awesome video, very informative. I’m looking to get into doing some fish prints for myself. Any recommendations on what type of ink to use? Also, what type of colored ink should be used? Thank you.
I realize I’m late to the party but what ink do you use. I imagine most ink is food grade?
Hi! Loved this vid. What kind of paper are you using?
Awesome! What’s that edible ink?
That’s beautiful. Where would you get the paper? Mahalo
Very nice! Is it possible to make a print using a light cloth material...??
What type of rice paper do you use, Naoki?
I'm going to Maui next year, how do I get in touch with him? and what is his name? Thanks, Great video's.
This is Oahu, not Maui.
I’m on Maui and do gyotaku fish prints and would love to help. Check out my Instagram @fishprintsbyjake

Can you tell me what paper you are using and where you order it. I keep getting tears in my gyotaku paper. Thanks
you should be using rice paper, if you are, you might be using too much ink
