But survive they did before hitting their opponents with two goals from Glyn Riley and another from Howard Pritchard.
City are the most successful club in the competition, having won it three times in their history: 1986, 2003 and 2015.

Got up in the morning proper skint 17 benson and hedges to my name!! Bunked the train all the way to Paddington, bunked the underground to Wembley. Begged £4 outside
The ground ( that’s how much it was to get in). Jumped over the fences and seats to sit behind the royal box. Watched city beat them 3-0. Got half a gallon of cider off some bloke who couldn’t drink any of it anymore, got rat assed, bunked the tube back to Paddington, then bunked the train back to Weston got home about 11-30 pm. Put my hand in my pocket found a packet of benson and hedges, still had 17 in there!!!!
True story and one of my best days in my life ( football wise)

Bolton were mauled to pieces that day!completely overrun!Bristol city beat them nine nil(9-0) that season on aggregate!over three matches!what a sickener for Bolton fans eh!
